Did this flop? My friends couldn't go opening weekend, and I didn't want to go alone. Then I was on vacation last week, and now I think I'm just waiting for the DVD.
It seemed like a bad time to release it. So many people are on vacation the first couple of weeks of July--and this definitely is a movie you go to with girlfriends.

Oh MAN, did I hate Cody Horn in the first movie. I recently re-watched the "Pony" scene on YouTube, and I couldn't believe how stony-faced she was.

I haven't seen it, but I've been enjoying the screams of outrage on IMDB from guys decrying the 'objectification' and how it's unreasonable for men to have to work out and watch their diets.

It's made its money back. Not a great opening but not a flop by any means. I'd see it again if my friends were down.

I saw it yesterday in a gold class cinema with comfy couch chairs. 39.5 weeks pregnant and no-one else in the cinema.... no, not weird at all.
My review? Joe Mangianello: YOWZA!

I have to say Channing Tatum does not have an attractive face but Jesus his moves and the perfect bump and grind r&b soundtrack was everything. Joe Manganiello and Adam Rodriguez. Beautiful visuals in this movie.
Amber Heard was out of place and needed to go straight to hell with that stupid hairstyle. The singer was out of place too that Glover guy since he was too damn skinny.
Its made over 90 million off of a 14 million budget. Bring on a 3rd.

Joe Manganiello - dayum - I'd climb that tree any day. Bring on a third indeed. I saw it last week in an outdoor theater by the lake that serves booze. IT. WAS. AWESOME. As evidenced by the nearly entirely female crowd whooping and hollering their way through the film. :-) My absolute favorite scene was the convenience store; I was practically crying from laughing so hard while watching that. I wish there had been more dancing/choreography and less actual stripping/simulated sex acts since I find the dancing more interesting and sexy (Channing's My Pony is the best example of this.) But overall, I appreciated that this movie was less serious and much more fun (the two bottles of wine consumed by me and some friends may have had something to do with the fun too.) Amber Heard was boring (though she didn't stink up the joint like the last lead actress) until the very end. I loved her face while she was being danced with. Hahaha. Only thing that I was a little disturbed about is that every song on this soundtrack is already on my iPod. I guess I love me some "male entertainer" music. Ahem. Also, like half of the male strippers should be gay (like in real life.)

I finally watched the first one after having the DVD for like three months (I am the world's worst Netflix DVD subscriber). I enjoyed parts of it (ha - you probably know which parts) but the bro-dacious-ness of it was a real turn-off. Whatevs. The Kid was absolutely the weakest part/actor/dancer with his sour-faced sister coming in a very close second. Glad to hear that neither of them makes it to the sequel. Loved McConaughey - it's awesome to watch him in MM and then watch Season 1 True Detective. The man is a miracle. Oh, and Channing Potatum (my fave nickname for him) has my respect for his amazing dancing but I still think he looks like a spud from the neck up. Good on him, though.
