I hated this so much. And the more I think of it, the more I hate it. Henry is cute, but the film reminded me of Batman, the Avengers, Avatar and 300, but never Superman. I hated the carnage, the special effects, the ending and most of the characters. Disappointment doesn't begin to cover it. Zach and Christopher need to go away for a while and think of different ways to tell a story.... cause the one they came up with was stale and looked like every other film they've made. *And just because you have the capabilities to come up with a "cool" FX, doesn't mean you have to toss it and the kitchen sink into your film. Star Wars and Superman were cool because filmmakers DIDN'T have the capabilities to design the film the way they originally envisioned it. So they became creative and found incredible ways to convey special effects. Less = More. I wish filmmakers would remember that now./rant over

Not to be all DC vs. Marvel about it, but comparing the final battle to the one in The Avengers... Spoiler This movie made me realize one of the smartest things the Avengers did was to have Captain America call out orders to everybody at a key moment in the battle. That way you knew what the hell everybody was doing and why they were doing it. When Supes and Zod were battling it out at the very end, I hit a point where I thought, "I literally have no idea who is winning or what is being accomplished." My sister compared the last battle to Dragonball Z, which I think was hilariously on point.

In some ways I'm okay with this movie failing (creatively) as long as it doesn't drag Henry Cavill down with it. I really like him and want to see him cast in good stuff. Maybe this wasn't it, although it probably made enough money for them to make this a franchise thing. I'm not crazy about superhero movies, personally.

I liKed it well enough. I loved the fact that we got to see Superman be Superman i.e. going up against someone on his own level power wise. The destruction was on a ridiculous scale and the Lois Lane/Clark Kent relationship was mostly downplayed. It wasn't a perfect movie. The Christ comparisons were heavyhanded and I couldn't shake the feeling that some of the scenes were truncated or lengthened unnecessarily. Henry Cavill did a good job with what he was given but my biggest problem was that he didn't have much personality, like it could have been anybody who looked vaguely like Superman. I don't think its him as an actor but more the script wasn't written in a way that made Clark Kent/Superman a real presence.

Finally saw this today. I went in with lowered expectations, so I came away...not hating it like I thought I would. I thought all of the actors were good and well-cast, and really liked Henry Cavill. I liked really seeing Lois as a smart, talented journalist. I didn't mind the excessive amount of Jor-El like I thought I would. However, I just wish it hadn't been so dark. Superman is not Batman. For a movie in which the "S" is a symbol of hope, the movie is pretty bleak. The whole last half hour or so was just excessive with the destruction porn. Maybe it's because I spent my teens addicted to the Lois & Clark series, but to me, Superman is Clark Kent being a reporter for the Daily Planet, bantering with Lois and turning into Superman when somebody needs saving. Not being a loner hobo for half the film, then going into inter-galactic battle for the other half. carrier76 is right, it was too sci-fi; basically an aliens-attack movie. They didn't spend enough time building up the normal, human, every-day side of the character. It was hard to believe Supes cared so much for the human race when he barely spoke to anybody. I was a huge Lois & Clark fan, too. I loved how Clark was so well-adjusted and happy on that show. The first two Christopher Reeve movies were great, but I didn't like how Clark was played as a doofus. I really do prefer the versions of the story in which Clark is the real personality and Superman is persona he adopts to use his powers. He was raised in Kansas by the Kents; it just makes more sense to me. Also, while speaking of L&C: Teri Hatcher is still my favorite Lois (although I did really like Amy Adams in this). While I loved the portrayal of Martha Kent as a centering force in Clark's life, I hated what they did with Jonathan. They had Kevin Costner (which is pretty perfect casting), but the whole Spoiler "hide who you are/you should've let the kids on the bus die" thing was total BS. That is not Jonathan Kent. The Kents are the ones responsible for raising Clark to be a true hero, the ones who instilled him with his values and moral code. That is what makes Superman, and diminishing Jonathan's role that way just pissed me off. Still there's a lot of potential with this cast, and I liked the note the movie ended on. Hoping that the sequel is more of what I want in a Superman movie.

Meh. She's going to have to pack on a ton of muscle to be Wonder Woman. I think choosing Gina Carano or Katrina Law would've been a better casting decision.

Don't know who she is but she's a dead ringer for Natalie Portman, except with sex appeal. Nice body and tall with long legs. Once they get the WW wig and costume on her I think she'll look great. Don't know if she can act but seeing as how she's really only know for F&F movies, I'd guess she's not Meryl Streep. But then for a Batman/Superman movie she doesn't really need to be.

Wonder Woman needs to fill out her costume in all the right places, not be be a damn stick. She has the personality judging by F&F. But homegirl needs to build lots of muscle. Then again, Michelle Pfeiffer hit it out of the park as Catwoman and she is also very thin.
