I loved that they use a background arrangement of Tusk during the action sequence. The drum beat was perfect to convey the danger, especially since it wasn't recognizable except as a beat in the beginning. Now I want that version.

I want to watch it but haven't yet, whenever it airs it seems to air at the same exact time as two other shows I'm recording. I'm hoping it's available On Demand. The pilot, at least, is currently available on Hulu--which is how I'm watching it. I did have to register for Hulu (I guess for the adult content.), but didn't have to sign up for Hulu Plus.

I enjoyed it, but I knew I would because of the plot. Spies! Russians! The 80s! Harvest gold appliances!
One thing I hope they fix is better wig and makeup for Matthew Rhys. In a couple of close ups he looked a bit strange.

Keri's hair looks wrong to me for the era. I'm not expecting her to have feathered layers necessarily but it doesn't look much different than the way she wears her hair in real life now.

I watched it online at the FX site today. It takes like a week for their shows to show up in their on demand lineup.
I liked it. After the pilot, I like Phillip better than Elizabeth. I have a feeling my heart is going to break for their kids by the end of the series, because there is almost no way this can end well for Phillip and Elizabeth.
I also loved the way they used the music. I totally want a soundtrack if every episode is going to feature music like this.

Just watched the first episode. Loved it. Matthew Rhys is fantastic in this, and Russell is good too.

Watched this last night and loved it! The husband and wife dynamic is fascinating and kept me the most engaged. I think Phillip has come to love Elizabeth while Elizabeth isn't quite there. I think she cares about him (the scene at the end where she starts telling him about her pre-spy life was really sweet) but the motherland right now trumps all. Then again, she did lie to the superior about Phillip's defection desires so maybe she's more attached to him than she realizes.
I'm already calling FBI dude to be dead by the end of the season.

Yeah, I think Elizabeth and Phillip will only grow closer. Eventually she'll be forced to make a choice between her feelings for him and their children and her loyalty to the motherland.
I was really impressed with Rhys' acting in this episode. He was captivating. I'm very curious about Phillip's backstory and who the girl from the photo is.

I think if the FBI neighbor dies it won't be the Soviets, it will be the white supremacists he investigated while undercover or another criminal from his past. A fed getting killed brings a lot of heat. For all Phillip knows, the neighbor told the entire counter-intelligence unit about his strange new neighbor. We know he told his wife something seemed off. If her husband disappears or is found dead, she'll tell his co-workers about their conversation and his suspicions. The FBI will be all over Phillip and Elizabeth like white on rice.
I think it would be a bad choice for the writers to have some dumbass move by some racists assholes - like killing an FBI agent - bring down KGB agents, instead of the intelligence and years of hard it actually took.
I'm looking for tension between the two families to be between FBI family's teen son and Soviet spies' teen daughter. They were giving each other the gooey eyes during the scene with the brownies.

I think Elizabeth and Phillip only grow closer.
I noticed the look between Paige and Stan's son, but couldn't figure out how old the boy was supposed to be. He looked older, than Paige, but I couldn't decide if he was a couple of years older, or if it was moving into gross territory older.
I think the writers killing off Stan would be dumb on the writers' part. There is too much they can do with the relationship between the families and what Phillip and Elizabeth know about Stan, but being unsure what he knows about them.
