Anyone else catch this new show which premiered last night on FX? Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys play KGB agents living in America in the early 80s. They are married, have two kids, and look like any other normal American family except that they're secret Soviet spies. Their marriage was essentially arranged by the KGB, so they have a complicated relationship dynamic. He's grown accustomed to living in the U.S. and is seriously considering defection, while she remains fully dedicated to the motherland. And now they have an FBI counter-intelligence agent living right next door. Excellent pilot - one of the best I've seen in a long time. I'm looking forward to watching more of this relationship between husband and wife. Also, Matthew Rhys is hot.

We're about halfway through the pilot and I really like it. The family dynamic is as interesting as the spy stuff. I'm looking forward to getting into this show. Also, I love the early 80s stuff, high waisted jeans, going to the mall, Juice Newton!
But I have to say, it was weird to see Felicity performing oral and listening to her talk dirty to a Reagan flunkie. This role is a big departure for Keri Russell! It reminded me of JJ Abrams's unrealized idea to make Felicity a CIA agent (which eventually became Alias) in the final season's of that show.
Spoiler: The rape scene came out of nowhere and was really disturbing. When Keri opened the trunk and said, "Remember me?" I got chills.

Keri Russell is so fantastic, I just love her! I hope this show will be a hit for her sake. I thought the pilot was fairly interesting.

I loved the pilot! I think the tension could be ratcheted up just a notch but it was excellent. I like that they decided not to go over the top with the period element. I get that they are in the 80s without the production to go out of their way to remind me at every turn. It feels contemporary, which I like. It's more like I am living in the 80s and watching a contemporary show than living in the 21st century and watching a period piece.

I want to watch it but haven't yet, whenever it airs it seems to air at the same exact time as two other shows I'm recording. I'm hoping it's available On Demand.

The hair! And the music! It took me the better part of a decade to get that Phil Collins song out of my head . . . and now it's back. Also, Keri's Guess jeans were a nice touch.
Good stuff, so far. I'll definitely keep watching.

The first episode was fantastic! I'm so excited. It's been so long since I've found a new drama I could really sink my teeth into.
