Elizabeth is averaging one kill per episode.
I thought the scene when Elizabeth brought Philip the Russian food she made was interesting. He had that bit of "it's good" nostalgia, but nothing like Elizabeth has. There's still fondness for Russia, but not the all-consuming passion that Elizabeth has for it. Especially in that he can acknowledge peace with the U.S. can be a good thing and Elizabeth is like "Noooo, must. kill. more. capitalists."

In Philip's sales strategy pep talk scene I thought to myself "He's gone full capitalist." The Russia that Elizabeth is longing for does not exist any more.
Total speculation, but could Philip's money woes be solved by selling info to the Americans (via Stan)? Would he go that far?

I loved, loved, loved the last montage with Philip, Elizabeth and Paige all dealing with their lives differently. Man, Philip really just wants to be left alone to live the American dream, doesn't he? It's gonna hurt when he takes the hit for Elizabeth (not a spoiler, I'm just guessing). And, great going, Paige, already honeypotting.

Paige is going to get herself arrested for espionage or worse. She is so desperate to get her mother's approval and she's quite gullible, believing that suicide story like, "of course my mother the spy would never lie to me." SMH
Philip continues to break my heart. He is an American now. He's an immigrant, not a spy. Grew up dirt poor, begging for scraps, came to this country and made a life for himself, so he can give his kids the things he never had as a child. Take out the spy stuff, and that is his story. I have a terrible feeling about his fate, but he is my #1 character on this show and always has been.

This is how I’ve always felt, but I’m so mad at him this season for just allowing Paige to enter “the life.” It’s mostly Oleg for me now, and to a lesser extent*, Stan. Stan’s annoying and not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he has a conscience and cares about humanity and the fate of the world. I feel more invested in Oleg, his family, and even Arkady at this point. Philip and Elizabeth just seem morally bankrupt in their own way. *No, not Tiffany.

Thought I'd pop back in to the thread for the final season. I've kept up watching but I thought the last season was kind of meh...but I was also distracted by lots of personal stuff so I didn't watch anything with as much interest as I had before, just too busy.
I will certainly miss this show but if they give us a bang up finale it will be worth it. I'm actually thinking of binge watching the entire series before the finale because I know there are so many details I just do not recall. That way I will be prepared to pounce on every little nugget they may put in the last episode or two.
As for the current season, still hate the idea that Paige would so easily spy against America. Love seeing how Phillip and Elizabeth are not at their best without each other to really lean on: Phillip making bad business decisions and Elizabeth getting tired and not quite as on her game as she used to be. Interesting dynamics and I cannot wait to see how this all plays out. Which one will die??
Any bets on how Stan will find out about P&E? I think either Henry will be home from school on break and will let some seemingly innocuous detail about his parents slip while talking to his surrogate dad Stan which causes a giant light bulb to go off over his head, or Stan will end up shooting E after a chase of some kind and he will dramatically rip off her wig and we'll get a shot of his face going "OHMYGODIWASRIGHTWHENISNOOPEDINTHEIRCARYEARSAGO"

I've cut Paige more slack than a lot of viewers, but, man, she really is insufferable. I actually cheered Philip on when he told her to come at him and showed her just how ill-prepared she is at this point. Also, I HATE the "good old Russia" scenes with her, Elizabeth and Claudia.
Philip, you're breaking my heart. When you and/or Oleg dies (again, me assuming, no spoilers), my TV-watching heart will break just a little.

I was really hoping Philip was going to lay a verbal smackdown on Paige and get into the hundreds of people they've killed, sex they've had, the fact that he had a fake marriage, etc. She's so clueless, but I think it's a somewhat realistic "teenager/twenty-year-old who thinks she knows everything".
I'm trying to keep myself from getting too into trying to figure out the end game, but I'd really love it if Philip turned fully on the USSR. I found the call with Kimmy really moving.

A poster on Previously TV summed up what made the phone call to Kimmy so perfect- something to the effect of, he started off the conversation as Jim, but by the end of it he was fully Philip.

I thought this episode was absolutely outstanding. Philip is back in my good graces. I wonder if Kimmy will tell her CIA Dad about the warning from Jim. I think the scene with Elizabeth killing Gennady and Sophia was one of the most chilling in the entire series. She was completely willing to kill that child, you could see her doing the math, and I think her relief that she didn’t have to had more to do with the increased risk to her than it did with not wanting to kill a child. I did think it was a bad choice for the Center to send Elizabeth to kill Gennady since Stan is so involved with him. Elizabeth’s disguises are very good, but Stan knows her so well.
I’ve been so frustrated with Philip living in denial, and I’m glad to see him waking up. I so hope that he defects. Watching him trying to protect Kimmy and Paige in such different ways was fascinating.
Renee is so hinky. There’d better be a payoff there or I’m going to feel like they’ve been toying with me.
Is anyone else wondering what’s up with Philip and Elizabeth’s house? In real life it’s a triplex, but the way it’s shot in the show makes it look like a development of duplex townhouses. I nosed around the internet but didn’t find answers. I’ve always wondered who is living on the other side of the duplex? Why would super secret agents live in a duplex with a shared wall? That seems like an unnecessary risk. Has this ever been addressed in the show?
My heart was in my throat during the scene at the Rezidentura. #Olegismyhero
