I'm ridiculously excited and also sad that this is it. I'm so, so curious as to how they're going to wrap this up.

This and "How to Get Away with Murder" are my favorite shows. I'm so sad that it's ending, although this isn't really a story you can tell forever. I'm also bummed I can't watch tonight. We're going away for spring break and have an early flight in the morning. I'll need to stay spoiler-free for a week!

Won't say much for a couple days until people have a chance to watch, but, damn, it was a good premiere! I loved the callbacks to the pilot and, ack, the appearance of Chekhov's gun...

The music they use on this show is excellent. As soon as I heard "Gold Dust Woman" I remembered how brilliantly they used "Tusk" in the pilot. It's all coming full circle and the main themes set up in season 1 are going to be revisited and resolved.
This season is going to be great/awful because all of the tension throughout the series is coming to a head.

I want to go back now and just watch that last scene of the pilot just because of "Tusk."

The premiere was great. I loved seeing how Phillip and Elizabeth adjusted to their new dynamic. And I liked the way they handled giving us updates on everyone.
I have even more theories on how the season will play out now, and most of my theories contradict each other.

Elizabeth, to me, is like a junkie. She knows she's addicted, she knows her addiction will most likely kill her, and yet she can't stop. She's strung out on spying/love of country, rather than a substance, but she might as well have track marks.

Elizabeth, to me, is like a junkie. She knows she's addicted, she knows her addiction will most likely kill her, and yet she can't stop. She's strung out on spying/love of country, rather than a substance, but she might as well have track marks. That’s a really interesting way to describe her unraveling. - I hate Paige less without the ponytail
- Oleg is just such a fundamentally good and decent person. He is the one character for whom I most want a happy ending. It’s kind of sisterly love between us now that he has a beard, but I do still adore him. His plea to Philip was so perfect. No arrogance in that character.
- Philip seemed so relaxed and content with his line dancing, motivational employee interactions, and red leather interior. I found myself feeling slightly resentful, not because of Elizabeth, but for Paige. How can he be living his best life knowing that his daughter has been sucked into a life of danger and moral bankruptcy? Does he not know?
- Everything is divided. It certainly is. And I think that final scene between Elizabeth and Philip tells us that they are essentially finished as well. I wonder what would have happened if Elizabeth listened to Philip. I think she would have killed him; whatever love she feels for him isn’t as strong as her love for Mother Russia.
- I had a harder time disappearing into the world of the show this year. I kept thinking that no one gets a happy ending unless they die peacefully in their sleep before Trump is a glimmer in Putin’s eye.

Philip is turning on Elizabeth as a comrade, and he does not think much of the way she's handling Paige. When he looked at her while she was sleeping, it was like he was letting go of their marriage and realized he will was going to have to fully turn on her. He did not seem that desperate to save her or their family, as he has in the past.
Elizabeth has killed a man in every episode so far this season.
"I think I want to become an FBI agent" The look on Stan's face was priceless! I still think this lady is running some operation on him.

I think Phillip has decided what he is going to do. Elizabeth won't go down without a fight though - if it comes to that it will be brutal.
Stans girlfriend is totally working him, but I wonder.if they are going to tie up that storyline or just let us wonder.
So much left to cover and notany episodes left!
