Poor Stan and Mrs. Stan. Their conversation in the kitchen had me in tears. He had to have seen the psycho militants do some hardcore shit. They better not fucking kill him off!

The Stan marriage is clearly in trouble. Let's hope Stan doesn't end up crashing on the Jennings' couch. Wacky hijinks would most definitely ensue.
I was only three in 1981 so I don't remember the assassination attempt, but I am curious if the KGB really thought Al Haig was trying to take over the government. Poor Haig, the guy would never live down those regrettable words.
I didn't quite get the significance of Elizabeth's flashback. Who was the man who came to visit her mother and what was he trying to get them to do?

I think they guy who came to visit them was a local Communist Party official. He brought a box of food hoping to exchange it for, um, favors from Elizabeth's mom. That's what I took from it. I inferred that her mother is a widow and she had a hard time making ends meet.

Me too! Especially since the CNN special report last night about a few shenanigans in the FBI. They pretty much don't look the other way for very much. We're talking at the very least you get 5 days without pay for using your FBI Blackberry for anything personal. The report also told me that an affair with an informant is grounds for immediate dismissal. Stan, stay away from the Russian's ladybits!

Maybe a real life Stan and his Russian informant are why they are so strict.

After last night's ep I was all "Daammmn, Keri Russell. I FEEL you." Whatever she's doing, I want her to keep doing it HARD. I love her toughness in this role, so different than how she's usually portrayed (I'm pretending her recent horror movie didn't/isn't happening). I love it when actors who've gone off the radar pop up again hardcore. I think her husband is cast well also, he just looks more sympathetic and more puppy lovish naturally.

I loved how the episode focused on what Elizabeth and Nina have to do sexually to fulfill their spy/informant roles and the shocked reactions from the men in their lives. Really, Philip and Stan ? Really?
Elizabeth's acrobatics getting from one car trunk to the other was damn impressive. As was her nonchalant exit from the FBI parking lot.
Poor Mrs. Stan.

I think it is interesting that it is the Soviet women who are using their sexuality to get information. I wonder if they will have a beautiful American female agent using sex to find out something.
It is almost like at an early age the women born I'm the USSR, learned to have sex to get what they needed. I can't imagine Mrs. Stan (or me) having the same conversation with Stan that Nina had and getting, "suck his cock," out of it.
Phillip's reaction to the bruises was interesting. Was it the first time Elizabeth felt comfortable enough to undress like that in front of him after a meeting like that?
