Love it! Easily my favorite new show. I love that they made Watson a woman and her dynamic with Sherlock is great.

I'm enjoying the heck out of it. The occasional shout-outs to the original stories are fun, like last week's reference to Sherlock's monograph on the types of tobacco ash. I also like that the police aren't portrayed as idiots. (And I love Aidan Quinn.)

I love that it's not filled with a will they/won't they get together. That might change, but it's nice to get to know these characters without the sexual tension. And I also like that Sherlock usually finds out who does it fairly early, but has to prove it. And the killer knows he knows and dares him to find proof.

Do you think Irene is really dead? She's serving a purpose being dead, but it would be juicy if she was still alive and in league with Moriarty. Or was in league with him before her death.

I definitely think Irene is still alive. In the Moran episode they made a point of saying only some of the victims' bodies were found, with others it was just a pool of blood. They never mentioned if they found Irene's body or not but that is a way to bring her back for sure.
I have to admit, when I first heard of the show I thought it sounded terrible. A modern day Sherlock in New York with a female Watson on CBS, home of NCIS and Criminal Minds? Pass. I watched the pilot just out of curiosity and was amazed that they actually made it work. JLM is great as Sherlock but I am also really impressed with Lucy Liu. I didn't dislike her before but she never stood out for me one way or the other in her other roles. It would have been easy just to play Watson as the straight man but she brings alot of nuance to the character. Also I didn't realize before that she was 44. She looks great. I agree that I like that there is no will they or won't they tension. But at the same time they have such great chemistry...
I have enjoyed the British actors they have had on the show so far, Vinnie Jones, Rogers Rees, John Hannah. I am really curious to see who they will get for Moriarty.

I'm curious who, if anyone, they'll get to play Sherlock's father. I hope we get to see him eventually.
I don't think Irene is dead either.

I was pleasantly surprised by how entertaining I've found the show to be. I really wasn't expecting much when I heard about it. I was particularly pleased to see John Hannah in the recent episode and joked with some friends that his first scene made me wish the show was on HBO or Showtime.

Loving this show. JLM is really good in this, and so is Lucy Liu. Like everyone else has said, it's the nuances. Look forward to the next episode.

I've gotten really into this show. It's don't miss tv for me. Love the Miller/Liu dynamic. Love the twist with Watson as a sober companion. (I also think she's ridiculously pretty, so that doesn't hurt.) And Holmes is a great, quirky, arrogant mess, but with a bit more pathos than say, Cumberbatch's Sherlock (which I like too, for different reasons). As bstewart pointed out, I don't need to choose between them.
