He's a very physical actor, especially the twitchy, semi-yoga poses he takes as Shelock. He's like Javier Bardem to me, not conventionally good-looking, but magnetic in how he uses what he has, and extremely expressive whether playing good guys or villains.

Because I'm a total spoiler whore, I was searching around for some Sherlock spoilers a month or so ago and ran across a short video a fan made of them filming. It was amazing - after the director yelled "cut" his whole demeanor and body language changed. And he wasn't doing anything particularly Sherlockian - he was just walking away. But the way he walked away as Sherlock and the way he walked back as himself were very different. |

I don't remember exactly where I was it, other than it was probably on Tumblr. Probably searching under the #setlock tag will bring it up. dudeufugly.tumblr.com/ is generally a good source for that stuff if you're looking for one source, though since it has been a while since they've been shooting, it's probably buried there under an ass-ton of general BC obsession (that gal posts A LOT on a daily basis, but she always gets the spoiler stuff I crave). |
