So two episodes in, what are we thinking about the new season?

Trubel's disappeared, something (probably Juliet) is locked in a cage...and I'm not sure about the whole conspiracy thing.

I still don't believe Nick's mom is really dead. Bitsie Tulloch is no longer listed in the opening credits so I assume if she's back at all it ill only be in guest shots. I find the storyline about Baby Kelly to be a bit boring because he probably won't have any powers and no one will want to take him unless it's to get at Nick. Adelyn being a good guy has me a bit puzzled.

I am not feeling this season at all. Nothing seems fresh.

I didn't even empathize with Nick in ep. 1 of this season. Everyone was all "Juliette's dead?" one after the other... I was more concerned they didn't bring his mom back somehow (I thought that was a low blow, to kill her as well). I'm not crazy about dark!Nick and the original stuff feels like a retread... I dunno.

I'm enjoying this season so far. I'm intrigued by the "uprising," and I'm curious about what's going on with the guy from the underground/resistance in Europe who's now in Portland. Plus, I like that they're not ignoring the fact that Juliet died and how complicated it is since the evil Juliet was just at the end. And I like the weirdness between Nick and Adalind. I guess I'm digging the fact that the show isn't ignoring everything that's happened in the past and instead are building on the complicated relationships. Plus, scary monsters & creepy Lost Boys.

I disagree. What happened to the keys and the coins? The show has introduced the group with the four-claw insignia and the Latin catchphrase without shedding further light on the entire royals / Resistance stories. The Meisner Resistance character is around this season, but I wager the writers won't use him in a way that sheds light on any previously established story lines.

From what I read before the season started, the keys are coming back this season, and I think there is supposed to be some explanation/resolution about them. I think the Resistance and Royals will play into the uprising story. But my point was related to the characters and how they interact rather than to specific plot threads of the broader mythology of the show.
