It really is too bad that none of the kids take after him, looks-wise. And Elizabeth was rather pretty when she was young-what the hell happened? I think if you could get Trinny and Susanah to do a make over on Liz, she would look pretty good. Same for Princess Anne. The both of them settled on a style in their early twenties and just never moved on. In other Prince Phillip news, the "Palace" is strenuously denying the cancer story. Interestingly, the radio station I listen to during the day, carried the cancer story with every newscast yesterday. They are not reporting the news of the denial with the same intensity.

At his age, I'm not sure if they would treat it aggressively. I've been told that most men develop prostate cancer, and fortunately, it's very slow.
Whatever anyone says about Phillip, I've always respected that Elizabeth loves him, and I think it's nice that she's had someone in her life. I think being Queen could get lonely.

I've always loved that scene in The Queen where they're getting ready for bed and he calls her "Cabbage". Yes, I know it's a movie but I love that little bit of tenderness conveyed in the nickname...

About "cabbage": Very early in her reign, they were visiting in an institution for the hearing-impared [We called them "deaf" then.] He said "Come on, cabbage" then, speaking too softly for their escorts to hear, but a large room of the hearing-impaired nearly fell to pieces laughing, since they were able to read lips.
So "cabbage" is not just movie talk.

Meh, I hate to say it, but for old Phil, that's pretty mild.

If you think about it, it's really no different than saying to someone named Smith, hey, a bunch of your relatives are here. (Isn't Patel the equivalent to Smith in India?)
