She might be the most beautiful woman in Hollywood. In a long time.
I love that she graduated from Yale.

Love her! Saw 12 Years a few months ago. She should win. Hands down.
I like the dress but I don't like the color on her. She needs lighter colors. It looked nice on her but it would have been PHENOMENAL if it had been in yellow, white, a beaded gold or silver, etc. Thank god it wasn't a black dress though. I'm so sick of those.

Her last 5 looks at awards gatherings. She could be the next fashion trendsetter. (I picked #3 the print as my favorite.)

Lupita has an incredible sense of poise, which you rarely see on young celebs. Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swinton both have it in spades but they're veterans at this game. This poise makes her outfits look even more incredible.

Rocking the cover of Dazed and Confused. I'm glad she is being recognized for both her beauty and talent. I just hope this actually leads to some interesting and diverse roles. I would hate to see her become the next Viola Davis. Don't get me wrong, I think Viola is tremendously talented. Its just that she seems to have been relegated to always playing the dignified wife, mother, friend, boss etc. I'm sure she has more range but she hasn't gotten much of a chance to show it. I hope that Lupita does get those opportunities.

This poise makes her outfits look even more incredible. Seriously. You nailed it--her poise is amazing. She's just so refreshing in every way imaginable. I wish good things for her. So, a beef I have. I have been trapped under work for the past four months and this weekend I decided I wanted to go see 12 years even if i had to go by myself, dammit...only to find out it's not playing ANYWHERE where I live anymore. Is this already out of theaters?

I don't know where you live, but in the US it got it's wide release in early November. It wasn't a huge box office smash so I'm not surprised that it didn't last two months (come to think of it, I think of the smaller Oscar movies Blue Jasmine is the only one that had any longevity and that was more for the hard-on folks have for Woody Allen movies.) Though I would not be surprised if it gets a re-release because of the Golden Globe and Critics Choice wins and the Oscar noms, so there's still hope.
