I know nothing of this series (book or TV) beyond what I have seen in the previews. But I drool every time I see that Scottish ginger come on the screen. He is shirtless and has a bandage on his right shoulder. That's really all I need to know. Yes. So much yes. And I can barely understand him half the time- perfect!

My husband doesn't understand why I watch every episode multiple times a week. Jamie and Claire's chemistry that's why.
The demon/poisoning story was added, it's not in the books but I enjoyed it anyway. I like how they are whacking us over the head with the fact that Jamie has it bad for Claire and she is slowly trusting and liking him more. This show is doing good character development.
Geillis's red shoes! We're not in Kansas anymore!! Big, big hint there. ;-)

Geillis totally knows Claire has time traveled. She was doing everything in this episode to get Claire to fess up. She even pulled out the booze! The actors who play Jamie and Claire do have great chemistry! The show is doing a nice job of developing their relationship and showing the bond they have developed. Still, I do appreciate they are also fleshing out Claire and Frank's relationship as well. It would be very easy to make Frank a big jerk and make Claire's decision easier.

Diana Gabaldon had a cameo in the latest episode. She blogged about her brief "acting career" a few months ago.

What is with Jamie getting beat up in every episode so far? Still, the sporting scene between him and Dougal was good. Kinda summed up their whole relationship. There's affection there but at the same I think they want to kill each other.
Claire giving Laoghaire a love potion is so going to bite her in the ass down the line. Claire, honey, the fire and brimstone priest already doesn't like you! Don't give him to things to work with! Claire is an educated woman. Surely she knows women who were healers and had knowledge of plants were at risk of being accused of witchcraft.
Once again, loving how they are building Jamie and Claire's relationship!

I love Claire's relationship with her minders. Makes me laugh.
I loved the boar hunt scene with Claire, Dougal, and Geordie. Claire falling back on her WWII nursing skills and Dougal learning more about Claire through her resourcefulness and compassion. Great character development.

This show continues to impress. I am also liking the slow burn/buildup of the characters and backstories. Rupert and Angus are great fun and I like the rapport Claire is developing with them. I think a lot of the secondary characters are benefiting from being fleshed out on screen. I was glad to see Geillis 2 weeks ago and Murtagh this week take on the "Gaelic to English translation in the Hall" duty. The shinty game was all kinds of brutal and yet telling as far as the relationship between Dougal and Jamie are concerned. I'm looking forward to the future interactions between these characters as well. I'm glad they included one more scene with Claire trying to "help" Laoghaire snare Jamie, since any fallout is going to get even more vindictive later.

Was I the only who wanted to scream, "SHUT UP CLAIRE!" while watching this episode? I thought Claire behaved in a reckless manner. For example, Dougal already strongly suspects she's an English spy. He hasn't made that a secret. So she tells Ned the Lawyer that she knows they are collecting money to overthrow the English monarchy and they totally shouldn't do that because they can't win. Yeah. THAT'S NOT SUSPICIOUS AT ALL! I get she wants to save the men but Claire you can't rewrite history.
Oh man, Jamie has got it bad for Claire. And Claire is oblivious. The look on Jamie's face when Claire invited him to sleep in her room was priceless!
Heh, whether Claire or the clan realize it they have formed a family dynamic. We can insult you but we won't allow anyone else to is a family classic.

Yep, Claire needs to keep her head down and her mouth closed until she can make a break for it. But she is too outspoken a d self-righteous to do that. That attitude gets her in trouble throughout the series but I still love her <3.
I think we have only two more episodes until Claire and Jamie's wedding night. The tension is killing me!
How adorable was he with the dirk spinning?

So, this last episode kind of floored me, in terms of surprise at Captain Randall's behavior and then the Claire-Jamie subplot.
I think this show is kind of covertly awesome. It's sort of like women's wish-fulfillment porn (it looks like Claire has to get married to the super-hot, sweet Jaime) that also deals with complex issues like how the brutality of combat changes those in it.
I know people raved about Battlestar Galactica and how well it dealt with complex issues, but I wasn't sure this show was going to go beyond the romance genre, but it seems to be doing so.
