This ep was great. Really had that S1 feel. Part spooky, part humorous. I thought we were doing so well until they let Betsy Ross speak. She's awful. Simply awful and she & Tom have zero chemistry. Make it stop! Make it stop! Joe Corbin is a great addition to the cast. I like his "established" relationship with the Mills sisters and his burgeoning friendship with Ichabod.

Yeah, the Betsy Ross story line draws me out of the episodes, and annoys me.

All aside, I was enjoying that prior to this episode it was an almost all-female cast. That's rare for a non-teen show. But, I am enjoying that it's balanced out with the additional characters.
If they're going to keep Betsy's story on this season, I'd rather it be more flashbacks of just her doing her thing and Crane telling the story. Just don't have her speak or Crane show a lot of interaction with her and I'll be fine.

I never watched Bones so I didn't know who any of those characters were or if they usually act that way or if they were just reacting to meeting Crane. LOL! It was a werid idea because apparently Bones is not a supernatural show. So I give them props on the one hand for finding the common threads between the two shows and playing them up. But on the flip side, now that the Bones people have stumbled upon some of the secret lairs built in the world of Sleepy Hollow- there's no way they wouldn't uncover more supernatural stuff if they continued to investigate it. My assumption is that even though they said they were going to continue to excavate the site- on the Bones show it will never actually happen or even get mentioned again.
As far as Sleepy Hollow by itself goes, I'm still liking Joe being around to constantly remind us of Corbin's original involvement- but I do kind of wish they would speed things along with this shard thing. It's almost like maybe Jennie and Joe should just have their own spin-off show called 'Romancing the Shard' since it never seems to have anything to do with the rest of the plot. I'm assuming it will- although I hope it's not THE thing that brings Pandora down because that would be lame.
But as far as the other new cast members go- I wish they'd do something more with Reynolds if they're going to keep him in top billing. And on the flip side- Betsy Ross could do less.

Pandora is the villain this show needed in the 2nd season. I love her evil, evil heart. She creeps me out. She's done very little, but the stuff she's conjured up and how she floats around the Witnesses enjoying her mischief is the stuff of nightmares.
I'm so glad they've tied Joe/Jenny's story to Abbie. I don't want to believe Corbin was bad. I refuse to believe the man who helped raise the Mills' sisters was a shady character. I have to believe he knew what was coming and was desperately trying to prepare them before he was killed.
I do have to admonish Jenny. WTF? You know about Sleepy Hollow and all the stuff that goes on and you hold the shard in your hand. Really? Though, I'm looking forward to Team Witness and Joe's reaction to whatever happens to her.
I guess I understand the introduction of Zoe and Daniel, but not really. Zoe is the rebound, the transitional woman. Ichabod needs this relationship so he'll be open to a romance with Abbie. Daniel, though...he was in love with Abbie and she ran. I know that's her abandonment issues and the main reason she's not trying to pursue anything with Ichabod. She's afraid. The only person she knows won't leave her again is Jenny. Complicated.
I do not nor will I ever accept the need to have Betsy Ross mucking up the place. Abbie's greatgrandmother, Grace, would have been a much better conduit to the past than Betsy Ross. The character and the premise is just stupid.
Team Witness is good. As long as they are on equal footing and quipping back and forth, I'm a happy SH viewer. I know the show probably won't be back, but it was doomed the moment they scheduled it against the Scandal and TNF. So dumb. If Fox cared, they'd have found a friendly spot for it or left it on Monday/Friday.

Huh. I kinda liked having it on Thursdays. I wonder if that spells bad tidings (Not that Season two didn't already do plenty of damage that a Friday move won't matter one way or the other on its own)
As for this past episode- I liked that Reynolds was more involved in the plot finally. I felt if he's going to be a series regular, he needs to be doing more than popping in now and again to say howdy to Abbie and sneer at Ichabod. But now, he's gotten some Supernatural cooties on him so he SHOULD be open to the truth of what Abbie and Ichy deal with on the regular (Kinda like how Capt. Irving was all skeptical at first until a headless guy full on threw an axe at his head that he had to dodge all Matrix style. Damn wasn't that great! sigh, good times!) Except they seemed to leave it with Reynolds not remembering what happened to him so- back to square one. He needs another oogie encounter so he can be more fully on the team. Otherwise, he might as well be a bit player who's only there to try and remind us that Abbie has a real job in the real world (Like Capt. Reyes did all last season)
I laughed out loud at this week's baddie because she totally looked like a She-Ra Villain. And then I started admiring her big red ball gown and realized that since I had She-Ra dolls when I was a kid, she so would have wound up in my collection...
But in other plotline news: Oh NOES! Jenny!! Stupid Joe, why didn't you mention to Jen that the baddie used gloves when he handled the gem/shard thingy! I'm pretty sure the guy at the Voodoo shoppe said to watch out for her! Geez! Papa Corbin would not approve! But mainly OH NOES!!!! JENNY!!!
