My new favorite show (technically on DIY) is Restored. The host restores older homes in the style of the home's architecture, preserving the style. I love Brett Waterman, and would happily live in almost every home he's done. The part of California he focuses on also seems to have avoided much of the way-too-common knock-down/rebuild destruction of original buildings.

I love bitching at the house hunters on House Hunters, so I was thrilled to see House Hunters: Comedians on Couches pop up on my HGTV app. They're not overly mean to the people, which I like, the most snark is saved for the actual houses they're touring. Although chick on the first episode has no freaking idea what "mid-century modern" means. I've watched the first 3 episodes and may need to ration them out.

Comedians on Couches is fun to watch. I think my fav reveal was the Castle one on the second ep where all the comedians screamed NO at the screen at the same time when they showed the turrets. I'm enjoying it.

Cat tube was CRAZY.
I also like to look at Twitter while watching HH because the live tweets are hilarious.
I wasn't loving the comedians until John Mulaney was on. He can do no wrong.

I keep forgetting to post this--my cousin and her family are featured in House Hunters International, season 173 (wha?!?!?) episode 2[/url]. I haven't asked her how much was a set up and how much was live, but I do know that they greatly simplified her family's story. Yes, they're moving from Newfoundland, but that's just the latest stop in their lives. Before that they were in Anchorage, and before that they were in Northern Alberta. They're both from small town BC (and yes, she did grow up on a farm.)

Typical HHI with Americans: Young married couple, no kids, moving to Amsterdam. "We want to be city center, we will have friends and family visiting so we absolutely have to have four bedrooms, three bathrooms, at least 2500 sq ft, and our max budget is $1200/month."
