Is he the same lawnmower man that was mowing the lawn in front of that defunct school where Rust found all those twig things? I was trying to be a little funny about my last post. As I said, it always leaves me craving for more and then BAM! here's the finale. Is this just a one-time show? Or are we going to have another season?

New season, new cast/plot ala American Horror Story. Which is bad, because Harrelson & McConaughey are a wonderful team but good b/c hopefully, another crazy good crop of actors. I believe only Nic Pizzolatto is guaranteed as it's his original concept... And I'd love to see Cary Fukunaga's work next year, in a perfect world.
Oooh, what ep was there another lawnmower man?

Aww, bummer, indeed! Will there be new producers, too? I mean, I like the idea of seeing a new crop of stars ... but I really enjoy the Matthew/Woody team. Oh, well.
I believe the lawnmower man (ha! movie reference?!) was in episode three. He was mowing the "Light of the Way" lawn and said that he works for the Parish and covers several properties. And I went back and see that it is the same guy that was in this week's episode.
I've had a strange feeling about him since we saw him in episode three. I kept thinking it was him and Tuttle that had the connection all along. My "training" in this sort of thing (just lifelong watching and reading murder mysteries) tells me to always look at the one that has access, but is the least focused on and is randomly introduced. *shrug* Maybe that's just me?

I've finally caught up with this and still have no idea what the hell is going on. Ha. But, I really like the actors so I keep watching. This is some disturbing shit for sure. Happy to see all these posts talking about it.

Yes, he's the same person. Rust was talking to him, he asked him why he's still mowing since the school was defunct, he said the government paid him to keep mowing the lawn, this was in 1995. Rust wanted to talk to him some more, but Marty called him over because they got a hit on Ledoux.
When Rust went back there and found all those twigs, that was in 2002 and the lawnmower man wasn't there.

When Rust went back there and found all those twigs, that was in 2002 and the lawnmower man wasn't there. He had moved on to greener pastures. *rimshot* And getting ignored by those other investigative cops that are bugging Rust and pegging him for the murders. Go figure. This is why I think the lawnmower man is in on all of this.

It is torture ignoring the first 4 pages of this thread, but I had to share this: I am currently getting ready to watch episode 4, and yikes!! The final shot of episode 3 with Reggie Ledoux walking across the lawn like Bigfoot in a gas mask, his drawers, and wielding a machete!? That's some Leather Face levels of scary shit. I am actually finding it hard to marathon this show. It's so dense, it takes a while for me to digest one episode before I can take on another episode.

Argh! I stayed up until 4am watching, and didn't want to stop! I'm going into episode 6 and the Yellow King may still be out and killing. My speculation is that it's the Governor, or his Bible thumping cousin that were briefly saw in the first or second episode. And Marty is getting it back in spades with his daughter.

Pomm - I've been cackling at that video today. I swear that's how this show sounds to me. Hahaha.
