Sometimes she's frustrating, but mostly she's interesting.

I don't watch BBT, I'm not a parent, I'm not Jewish, yet every now and then I go on a binge of reading her Kveller posts. She's very...intense...in her beliefs and I think a lot of what she does is kookoobananas, but I admire her for sticking to her guns in Hollywood, e.g. W/r/t dressing modestly.
Why did she go back to acting? I've assumed she was a stunt casting on BBT that expanded.

I think based on what i saw (her doing D level personal appearances 7 years ago) that she really hasn't pulled in much money after the demise of Blossom. Academia is limited budget wise. If she knew she and her husband were splitting, it would make sense to line the coffers a little. Her stint on BBT may have been stunt casting originally, but she makes a nice fit in the cast. I like her.

I think her "break" from Hollywood is probably kind of misstated--her IMDB page shows that she's worked pretty steadily in a mix of voice roles and limited appearances, with one or two years where she had no credits at all. I guess she kept working for the normal reasons--money, to keep her union membership (if applicable), the occasional itch to do something. I also have no idea what her exhusband did professionally, nor do I have any idea what she would make for voicing a cartoon.
I also enjoy Kveller from time to time--I like that it's collaborative, and it's just sort of an insight into the lives of people who are not me, but I don't know if I've read anything specific by her unless it was excerpted elsewhere. Relatedly, in my travels through the world of religious bloggers and also as someone who is not Jewish, I have the impression that Jewish modesty standards are the easiest to work with. Christian folks prone to modesty have fluctuating standards and tend to evangelize (Candace), and also tend to go kind of prairie muffin and don't turn to acting, either. I don't know about anyone else who has had modesty issues in Hollywood, other than the Victoria's Secret model who found religion and dropped out entirely. I did read that Steven "DA Adam Schiff" Hill's contract specified that he not work on Shabbat, but that's really all I can think of, religious-wise, off the top of my head.

I like her a lot. I follow her on FB and have read a lot of the Kveller stuff. I think she does a great job of explaining her alternative views of child raising and her strong adherance to her faith without being holier-than-thou and preachy. She's very intelligent and non-judgmental and seems to want to actually share information and communicate rather than say "my way is the right way".

She seems like a nutjob in real life but she is excellent on BBT. She and Bernadette really livened the show up. She was also a blast on Hollywood Game Night even when she totally biffed a science question.

She's one of those anti-vax nutjobs. She disgusts me as badly as Jenny McCarthy.

What threw me though is she talked about how her kids seemed to be developementally delayed -- but it didn't phase her. Like one was two and hadn't started talking, or something like that (I'll look up the article tomorrow, it's late), but she didn't think it was a big deal. Like, "meh, he'll talk when he wants to". Or something like that. It was really out there.

She's one of those anti-vax nutjobs. She disgusts me as badly as Jenny McCarthy. I don't care how she chooses to live or how religious she is, but the anti-vax aspect doesn't wash with me. I want to like her. She's Blossom, ffs! How did she derail so badly given that she's a scientist?
