I feel sorry for their kids, though. Not like they get a vote in their parent's stupidity.

And the greatest irony is that most of the parents won't run any risk as they were probably vaccinated when they were kids. So sure, you got to enjoy the benefits of being protected against a lot of diseases, but your kid totally can rely on their own immune system. Just like you! Oh no, wait...

My brother and his baby mama are anti vaxxers. Moreso the baby mama but my bro basically takes whatever she says as gospel. I want to ring my bro's neck every single time my niece is mentioned (baby mama is persona non grata). My niece is homeschooled though. Baby mama claimed that vaccines cause cancer and has mercury as per my snooping on her fb page. Too many idiots in this world having kids.

How is Mayim homeschooling two kids of different ages who require different curriculums and working? Especially as a single parent. No beef here against either -- homeschooling or working moms -- but there are only so many hours in the day.

I'm sure others here are more knowledgeable than I am, but there are lots of different levels of homeschooling and especially given Mayim's resources, she could very easily have tutors in her home for different subjects. I don't know what (if anything) she's shared about her kids' education, but she doesn't necessarily have to be doing it all herself.

Based on the few things I've read and heard, it sounds like they are mostly with him.

Times have changed from the way homeschooling used to be (or the misconceptions of it from back in the day) to what it is now. There are lots of programs and networks that allow parents to do a sort of "mix and match" curriculum to meet their children's needs and also to help in subjects that they may not be proficient in or want to just have tutors or other parents conduct those courses. There are also online programs that connect other homeschool children via video and other courses as well. It's actually pretty awesome for those that attend general schools that would like to get additional help with their studies or if they're taking on additional courses.

I was curious if Mayim had anything to say on her blog about the measles outbreak and found this instead. It's a parody! They are supposed to be exaggerated stereotypes! The commercial isn't showing an end to the war. It's showing that there shouldn't be a war in the first place. Again, it's a parody. What's interesting is that Mayim seems to have not seen the negative stereotypes of all parents, including stay at home dads. She only saw criticism towards her own parenting style. Maybe that's why she completely missed the point. Is "formula mom" a label now? And what about the dads? Are they formula moms with penises? Cause they certainly don't have the option of breastfeeding. And she was so upset about the moms with tents that she completely overlooked the working moms being portrayed in business suits and heels. First of all, duh. Corporations make commercials to sell their products and make money. We all know this and accept it. It's up to viewers whether they fall for ads or not. Although, it sounds like Mayim doesn't believe formula should be a product available to the general population in the first place. It should only be used for medical reasons when a woman (or, you know, those dads) can't breastfeed. This entire rant is completely ridiculous. It's a funny commercial that has a nice message at the end. Lighten the fuck up.

I had my own problems with that commercial, and while I agree with you, highondegrassi, that she's picking and choosing what parts are offensive, I'm glad someone's highlighting that the commercial is indeed condescending, sexist, and insulting, to EVERYONE. Eff you, Similac.

But I think that was the point. It's showing the various negative stereotypes that parents have about each other and how it shouldn't really matter. I saw it as comical exaggerations, not literal ones.
