I remember your post about his face cheating thing. You were super chill about it; like I don't entirely agree but I ain't mad at it. A few episodes ago there was an "as an actor....he's terrible because blah blah pretentious blah" post that chapped my hide. It was the worst.

Hi again. This is a friendly warning that at several of the folks posting in the black mirror threads are painfully stupid. In one episode, an older character jokes to his daughter and grandaughter about being "2000 years old", as people do. And I've just read at least three comments where people wonder if he really is 2000 years old or if the episode was set 2000 years in the future. *headdesk*

Well I was wrong, PTV is still limping along, a pale shadow of its predecessor, TWOP. I've been checking out The Handmaiden's Tale forum, but it's all a bunch of nitpicking whiners whose biggest complaint is that their isn't enough racism in this dystopia.

So now I have a warning and one penalty point because I posted a negative opinion of Dean Winchester on the Unpopular Opinion board.
All I can say is goodbye and fuck you to PTV.

It must really depend on the board. I tend to watch acknowledged crap so almost everything is snark and we don’t have much conflict. The main boards I post to have mellow moderators and things tend to be friendly. I imagine that more substantial shows would trigger actual discussion and that can get rowdy, I know.

I don't visit a majority of the forums. I tend to stick to the Food Network competitions, the MasterChef shows, and the Million Dollar Listing shows. Oh, and a few Investigation Discovery show forums. The conversations that happen on those forums are friendly, and sometimes snarky (especially true for the food competition shows). I can imagine there are diehards polluting some of the regular TV show threads.

There is a poster in the Finding Your Roots forum who is of Sicilian descent and can't seem to understand that discrimination against POC is different from discrimination against Southern European immigrants in thr early 19th century. That's my annoyance in a nutshell. The longer story involves lots of posting about her less than 1% DNA matches of about 10 different ethnicities. I saw that. My snarky reply was deleted. How rude!

I'm surprised, but not really, that posters justify slagging on people of color reality show contestants. Especially African American women. I always defend them, but people are really upfront with it.

Unrelated to any of the above, I just wanted to say that the “My 600-lb Life” live chat threads are hilarious. I don’t live in the correct time zone to join in with the majority of posters but I read it all and laugh and laugh. It frequently saves me having to watch the more frustrating episodes.

I like the previously.tv podcasts but haven't looked at the forums in ages. Today, I decided to check out the threads for Food Network Star, as I like the show (my first season watching) and don't know anyone else who watches. Holy cow! It's a den of negativity. Everyone hates everything, 98% of the posts about Giada D (whose shows & recipes I like, so that's why I started watching this) are bitchy, and most of them claim never to watch Food Network any more but for some reason keep up with this show. Ugh. I spent much longer looking at threads than I should have, but it was a good reminder as to why I quit reading TWOP back in the day and didn't read the forums at PTV after it launched.
