This past week's Bachelor thread went all the way off the rails with a group of female posters nominating one other poster (a man, I believe) as the Bachelor of the forum and posting one on top of another declaring each other's posts the funniest and most wonderful things ever.
Harmless stuff, but definitely made me miss the "boards on boards" rule a bit. Do they still do those separate threads where people can post chit chat to each other? It'd be nice if they took their strokefests over there instead of hijacking episode threads.

Did they just change the name to 'Primertimer' or have I just not noticed it until now? I only figured it out when my link to the forums page was no longer working.

It changed 2 years ago The old link to the previously.tv login worked for a long time after it changed. I think they finally killed the interim link recently, because I had the same experience! I donβt go there much, obviously. My username & login still worked so no harm done.

I had to laugh the other day when a mod came into the Real World forum and swiffered posts in one season's thread about another season and urged people to go to that other season's thread or use the "Past seasons" thread.
A. most of the "off-topic" posts were comparing something from the pertinent season to another (long ago) season, so you'd have to say half your post and then say "see [other season thread] for the rest of these thoughts" in order to follow these dumb rules
B. The "most of" qualifier above doesn't even really apply because it was TWO posts that veered ever so slightly off the topic of a Tv show that aired 20 years ago
C. THESE SHOWS AIRED 20 YEARS AGO. This is hardly a hot topic, it's a couple of people who were brought back to RW by the recent "Homecoming season" where the original cast got back together and now someone has been uploading all the old seasons to Youtube, so a handful of people are rewatching and reminiscing.
In theory, I get the idea of saying "keep this thread for only talk of [this season]," but for an out of the way little forum where nothing is remotely getting out of hand? Seems like an utter waste of time moderating that and not smart to kill conversation that's keeping people on your page, which I imagine is monetized in some way.

Oh, Primtetime TV.
I still stick my head in the Young and the Restless thread a few times a week. With me working at home, this is the most caught up I've been since I worked on the night copy desk 16-plus years ago. lol I occasionally read the Commercials thread, but it's mostly the same miserable carryovers from TWoP who hate children, adults and frankly everything. They must be a party in real life.
That said, the summer Olympics threads in 2004 and especially 2008 were MAGICALLY! So busy and so much fun. 2012 and 2016 less so, but it was still a nice place to talk about the games. So much has changed with the board since 2016, so I don't haver super-high hopes, but I'll definitely check in next month.

In news that will surprise no-one, the Deangirls in the Supernatural forum are still crying about how the show ended, how Dean was flogged and pilloried all through the show, how Jensen Ackles never got his dues, oh but watch him now, he'll take over Hollywood, his talent is too amazing not to be seen from Jupiter, how he's just too kind for his own good, sticking with this terrible show and being treated so badly and not getting 58 minutes of screentime every episode. HOW DARE THE SHOWRUNNERS!
Lawd, this kinda crazy takes dedication I gotta say.

HOW DARE THE SHOWRUNNERS! Lawd, this kinda crazy takes dedication I gotta say. I've never seen that show or anything related to it except for people talking about the forum crazies. But wasn't it on years and years ago? At this point, I don't think either one of those dudes has exactly taken Hollywood by storm and the longer it goes since their one show ended, it doesn't seem that likely that either of them is going to blow up. I think it's down to the type of shows I watch that I rarely run across those hardcore TWoP carryovers, but man, do I remember how miserable they were. I briefly got into the Jon & Kate show plus a couple of other multiple birth shows and those seemed to bring out the deep-seated hatred, the scary kind that actually tries to interfere with the TV people in real life. But I feel like a lot of them must have slithered on to deeper pits of the internet, I'm sure Reddit or something like that makes a good home for some of those really miserable folks. Most of the threads I read over there, even the larger ones like the Bachelor or Survivor, are mostly light commentary with only a couple of nutty ones mixed in.

I frequent a few show forums and for most part it's fine. There is this truly annoying person on one that feels the need to correct everyone for the most minor of typos.

I feel fortunate in this regard too. I keep tabs on a few shows in their forums, and the people posting about those shows are cool and funny. I haven't seen any crazy stan behavior. I'm almost curious to check out those fan forums you all are mentioning.
