I know I'm beating a dead horse at this point, but Jesus... this guy is toxic! Run, Ariana! Run! Wow, and they say romance is dead

Watching last night’s SNL and Pete Davidson was talking on Weekend Update about his engagement. It was...creepy. I know it’s a comedy show and it was supposed to be funny, but when he said he swapped out her birth control pills with Tic Tacs, I believed him. Also, he was in almost every skit last night. He’s the weakest link in that cast.

He’s the weakest link in that cast. The annoying wink to the camera during Adam Driver's monologue was more than enough. Then they did an entire sketch about him AND gave him a segment on Weekend Update to talk like a douchebag about it. Talk about overkill. They aren't Bennifer or Hiddleswift.

The camera was on him in the video game sketch even when he wasn’t the one speaking, it was really obvious that they’re trying to shove him down our throats even more. I can’t wait until he inevitably decides that he’s too good for the show and quits.

When this relationship first started all those many...days ago...I thought it was unfair to assume it was doomed to horrific failure due to Pete's mental illness, and as time went on (in other words, a few months) I thought they were sweet together and, even though it was unlikely to last, they would part ways without having to regret the experience. But now, I've fully come around to thinking this isn't going to end well, especially for Pete. The self-deprecation and deep insecurity is so overwhelming that it's got to be more than a comedy shtick. His "funny lines" are more often than not creepy and sad. If my daughter (who's Ariana's age) had a BF who constantly profusely thanked her for allowing him to be with her, I would be so worried for her. This is some Lifetime movie shit. I hope they both get through it okay.

Joking about switching out AG’s birth control pills so she’ll get pregnant and basically be tied to him in someway for life, is beyond gross and disgusting. Ariana needs to pull a Katie Holmes and get the hell away from him ASAP. There’s something about him that is just not quite right and he seems the if I can’t have you no one can type. I’m legit concerned for Grande.

I think he's just incredibly immature.

So SNL didn’t realize that joking about messing with someone’s BC is wrong and creepy, especially this week?

Lorne Michaels is obsessed with getting high ratings, so it makes sense that he’d push for so much focus on Pete and Ariana. She was actually supposed to be the musical guest but backed out almost at the last minute. But I have to wonder how the rest of the cast and the writers feel about a coworker’s personal life being used that way, particularly a coworker who has spent much of the past few seasons barely even putting in the minimal effort to remain employed there.
I look forward to reading the book that will come out about all this.

I think Lorne kept him around because he was going through drug and mental health problems a while ago. The death of Chris Farley hit him really hard and I don’t think he wants that to happen again. But now Lorne is going to keep him around for the press and publicity.
