Sentencing moved from April 5 to May 25

Josh Duggar, who appeared on the TLC reality series “19 Kids and Counting,” has been sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography. The sentencing was announced Wednesday, after Duggar was found guilty by a Fayetteville, Ark. jury last December.

Duggar will spend 151 months in prison, and after release he will spend 20 years under supervision. He will serve his sentence either in Seagoville, Texas, which has a sex offender treatment program, or Texarkana, Tex. During those 20 years he will be required to register as a sex offender and participate in a treatment program, will not be allowed access to an internet device without approval and will be forbidden from having unsupervised contact with minors, including his own children. He also will have to comply with any DNA collection asked from him, and he will be prohibited from using marijuana.

Good. Glad he can’t even be unsupervised with his own children. I just know his wife would have let him. Throw away the key.

Good. I hope they actually monitor him after he completes his sentence. I doubt his wife will.

I don’t want him in Texas, but this was an appropriate sentence. Apparently it’s longer than usual and the judge put it down to Josh expressing no remorse. His abuse is his sisters also factored in.

Hope against hope that some time away from Josh will make Anna see the light and divorce him but I’m not counting on it.

At least he's doing actual time, plus probation for a long time to follow. Right now I'm taking what I can get.

Jill had her third baby on July 7th, a boy named Frederick Michael. His older brothers are Isreal David and Samuel Scott.

Frederick and Scott seem like pretty secular names.

Israel is not nearly as bad a name as Spurgeon, but it's interesting that Jill and Jessa both gave their eldest the super-religious names and their younger kids more secular/normal ones. (Poor Spurge.)
