Is that really Anna's brother? He's surprisingly profane. Have his parents completely disowned him?

Not a sex thing, but I missed the Big Charity Food Giveaway! Apparently last May (pre kiddie fiddling scandal) they brought boxes of food to a site with all the cameras and crew in tow, found a Mexican family who they could be charitable with, interviewed the family, "We are hungry! We love the Duggars! They give us food! They are God's own people."
Seems they filmed take after take of them bring in boxes of food, interviews with the Duggars and the needy family, and when the filming ended, they took the boxes of food away from the needy family, put it back in their own vans, and left.

Is that really Anna's brother? He's surprisingly profane. Have his parents completely disowned him? The Daily Fail said that this brother and another Keller are estranged from the family because they are not as deeply fundie as the parents. The brother also claimed in an FB comment that his parents will convince Anna to stay with Josh because they don't want the "shame" of having a divorce in the family. Never mind the multiple things Josh has done to bring shame. We can't have divorce, no way! What would the neighbors think? I'm glad the brother spoke out and I hope Anna knows she has options. She doesn't have to stay married to this loser.

I know she has a sister who was shunned after having a baby out of wedlock, and I heard that the Kellers weren't pleased with this brother when he adopted a kid.
He's a good bro. I don't know if doing this publicly was the right thing, but it's nice to know the family has sane people in it.

That tells you about the kind of people they are. They'll support a pedophile serial cheater and insist their daughter stay married to him and their grandchildren be raised by him but throw out their own son because he adopted a child. Sickos. Apparently last May (pre kiddie go fling sandal) they brought boxes of food to a site with all the cameras and crew in tow, found a Mexican family who they could be charitable with, interviewed the family, "We are hungry! We love the Duggers! They give us food! They are God's own people." Seems they filmed take after take of them bring in boxes of food, interviews with the Duggers and the needy family, and when the filming ended, they took the boxes of food away from the needy family, put it back in their own vans, and left. Yup, I believe it.

Yeah, this doesn't sound creepy at all. Anna is more secluded and isolated than ever. Meanwhile, the younger Duggars, who all their lives have been encouraged to be friendly and talk it up with strangers, are being yelled at for doing just that. Those kids must be so confused.

That article called the main Duggar house a "compound." Is this an intentional shift to identify them with an actual cult instead of just "devout Christians?"
So the preacher preached on infidelity. Not forgiveness? Is this shade directed at the Duggars? Maybe the church folk are done forgiving.

The Kennedy's compound in Martha's Vineyard always sounded like someplace I didn't want to go, but I saw pictures and it looks pretty nice.

Compound implies exclusivity - certain people are allowed in and many are not, based on whether you are one of the group. If you're not one of them, you're nobody.
Sometimes the group is an elite super rich family that protects their own no matter what nasty business they do, and other times the group is a culty family or church that protects their own no matter what nasty business they do.

Not sure what this means regarding Jill and Derick's feelings towards Josh, but it certainly means something. Would it kill these people to express their opinions using their own words in modern day English? They seem to filter every important opinion and decision in life through what others have allegedly said and thought thousands of years ago. I get using religious text for inspiration and guidance, but the Duggars seem to go beyond that. It's like they are using religious text to avoid thinking for themselves.
