Oh, and I forgot my least favorite cancellation this decade: Men of a Certain Age. Awesome Lisa Washington! Groovy André Braugher! Hot Scott Bacula. Even Ray Romano didn't annoy me too badly.
...and cancelled. What? Scott Bacula's character recommitting to his career was too realistic? André Braugher telling his good for nothing dad to fuck off was too much drama? I floooooved that series. Cry now.

A Year in the Life and Skin were my least favorite cancellations ever!

I finally remembered, with great angst, a long dead t.v. show I loved that definitely went before its time: Joan of Arcadia. It's not just that I loved the concept, but that the storylines for each character had just. gotten. interesting. Specifically, the plot with Ryan, who was evidently Satan incarnate. Why, CBS, whyyyy?

Three television series finales that made me cry for different reasons were Roseanne, Six Feet Under and Lost.
Roseanne made me cry because I hated that everything was fake. Those bastards killed Dan, my pretend television Dad!
Six Feet Under made me cry because it was moving and the audience received closure. I appreciated that so much. Remains great til this day.
Lost made me cry with righteous anger because I feel like I wasted six years on a purgatory/death dream. I don't care what the producers called it. That shit pissed me off. Ugly snot crying* in my house that night because no real answers were ever to be had. The liars.
*Yeah, I know I invest entirely way too much emotion in my favs.

To this day, I refuse to watch reruns of this show or discuss anything to do with it. 6 years and nothing. Let's throw everything out the window to make it Jack's wet dream. ARGH!

Ouch. I never looked at the Lost finale from those perspectives. I always thought the ending was kind of creative. Then again, I was a casual fan of Lost at best. Now it looks epic fail bad to me.

We just watched the entire season of Freaks and Geeks for the first time and I'm bummed that there's no season 2. It was a bit slow for me at first but then I really got into it and loved the different characters. I'm also still angry about Happy Endings being cancelled.
Oh! I also just remembered how much I haaaaated the series ending of Will and Grace. I sat down last year and watched the show from beginning to end and thought the ending just sucked. There's no way I buy that Will and Grace went for years without being friends. Granted, Grace was annoying and I'd want to be far away from her, too, but Will? Nope.

I think about Joan of Arcadia every time I hear Sympathy for the Devil. Every single time!

Okay, got one more. This one definitely died before its time--Stark Raving Mad. Anyone remember this (great) show about an eccentric writer (Tony Shahloub) coming back to life via a new editor (Neil Patrick Harris)? It was awesome, and one of the last genuinely funny comedies to air on NBC, IMO. I still quote from it occasionally.

It was only on for a few episodes as I recall.
