The show currently tapes 8 months in advance. They are going to burn off those 8 months and then probably come back with a shorter tape-to-air time. It's nice that they are not keeping the actors tied up for that whole time. Yeah, that's what I heard, too. Eight months in advance is INSANE, but I guess from a money standpoint it makes sense.

So, DOOL may not be cancelled after all. I don't watch anymore, but the idea of it dying made me sad.

Contract negotiations for the whole cast, all at the same time? Going to be interesting!

Marlena’s possession storyline is still one for the ages.

I still can't believe that storyline, IIR, dragged on for an entire year. And those yellow contact lenses still haunt my dreams.

It was so awesome! God I loved soaps. My heart will always belong to Another World.

I was an All My Children girl--in fact, the summer of Greg and Jenny was when I was working for the Texas Legislative Council, and thirty or forty of us would eat lunch in the main office area while watching AMC on a teeny little portable TV. We were obsessed!
A year or two later, I met my new roommate at UT--she looked EXACTLY like Jenny Gardner, and her high school boyfriend from Dallas bore more than a passing resemblance to Greg Nelson. Kinda creepy.

When my sister and I were in college (late 70s/early 80s), there were people who scheduled their classes around All My Kids.

Oh, my husband definitely scheduled college classes around General Hospital back in the late 70’s!

It was so awesome! God I loved soaps. My heart will always belong to Another World. I come from an NBC family. Santa Barbara was my first love, and Another World my second. Of the three, I wouldn't have chosen DOOL as the one I wanted to outlast the 90s and survive all the way to 2020. But it has been comforting in these turbulent times to know that Dr. Marlena Evans and Hope Brady are always there with their never-changing faces.
