but I'm glad that she at least got a little dig in I must have missed it! What did she do? It wasn't anything major, but when she read his name, it was obvious that she was unhappy that he had won, and she didn't hug or kiss him the way that most award presenters do. I wish she could speak out about it like she did about Nate Parker, but I understand why she's in a tough position because Affleck settled the cases against him, and of course he has his powerful brother and friends. |

I didn't see any dig at Casey. I saw her walk out onto stage doing this weird, stiff walk that made me wonder whether she was high and then I saw her quickly launch into the nominees. (I think the show was running short on time at this point and she was told to get on with it.) She did not appear to be in a bubbly mood, but I don't think it had anything to do with who won.

Her facial expression plus the lack of enthusiasm in her voice when she read his name made her feelings pretty clear.

She should teach classes. I watched it again, and you are correct! She doesn't do anything "traditional", doesn't smile when reading his name, and she half-holds the award out in front of her. Very well done. |

Yep, she obviously can't stand the guy. Assuming that Affleck continues on the award train, she's going to have to do a lot more of this. Can you imagine how elated she'll be if she gets to say, "and the Oscar goes to...Denzel Washington!"

Can you imagine how elated she'll be if she gets to say, "and the Oscar goes to...Denzel Washington!" I wonder if she would be even more elated than Julia "I love my life" Roberts was when announcing his name. |

I wonder if Brie is aware of this discussion. I bet she will react the exact same neutral way, regardless of who wins whatever award. Even if her dad wins.
