I could not find a thread on him and think he deserves it.
LOVE this man. Love his music, love his fashion, love his acting. ANd he looks great considering his age and all the drugs he did back in the 70's.
All enter and hail The Thin White Duke. (and give us some gossip)

Nothing to say, except I love him too. He's the only singer who can really act (Sting and Sir Paul, as much as I love you both, I'm looking at you. Collins, you too, but I hate you, so I don't care).
And his wife still looks amazing too.

ITA. I like his recent recordings as much if not more than the classic stuff. He comes across as so elegant and interesting. And he and Iman are a scorching couple. Their Tommy Hilfiger ads brought a ridiculous amount of the pretty.

He's such a cool person. Although his whole fascist stage still troubles me. He blames it on the drugs, but I don't know if that really excuses it.

I do too. I love "I'm Afriad of Americans".
I'm trying to find a link to one of my favorite recent photos of him, done by a famous photographer that also photographed Duran Duran recently.
There is a lot of truth in that that whole fascist phase was media bulldookie. It came from a photograph of him waving to a crowd and they said he was giving the Nazi salute. David said he was waving. He was living in Berlin and fascinated with German culture and history, collaborating with Eno, doing drugs and being depressed, but he claims never to have sympathized with Fascist ideologies. ANd I tend to belive that 100%. He's just not that kind of guy.

Not true. He gave an interview to Playboy where he praised Hitler. He also made a remark that Britain needed a fascist leader. He later apologized for both and said he had been "naive". He was also dressed as a fascist when he made that salute outside Victoria Station, so even if he was caught "mid-wave" as he claimed, he was still dressed that way.
But I mainly don't like him for back-peddling on his bi/homosexuality.

I did'nt know about the Playboy issue and I never read about the backpedalling.
I could forgive someone a lot, especially when they are young and zonked out on drugs. We all make mistakes and do stupid things.I read Angie's book on their marriage and the guy was so messed up at the time he thought Satan lived in their swimming pool.
She also wrote that she believe's he really is the soul of an extraterrestrial come to Earth.

He still looks good after all this time, but I don't like that he had his teeth done. As much as I like nice teeth, his messed-up grill worked for him. That said, he and Iman look fantastic together.

Because you weren't quite so forgiving in the Kate Moss thread. Personally, I'd forgive a little recreational drug use waaay before I'd forgive someone's Hitler sympathies.

Really. Because time has not told if she smartens up (and I don't think she will). He did.
And keep your snark or hostility directed towards Bowie, not me.
