We tried a couple of bootie options on Vince years ago. Oh, those were some fun times (except the exact opposite of fun, actually). He is VERY touchy about his feet and none of them worked. We never even tried on Dexter, as far as I remember. They are only outside for a 2-3 minutes maximum in bad weather anyway because they hate it so much. Poor little weather wimps.
Also: pet-safe salt is a thing and it works great!

I was just exploring the Muttluks’ website and found a section that said that Prime Minister Trudeau gave Muttluks as a gift for the Obamas’ dogs -- Bo and Sunny. How great is that!?

Meanwhile, in Califonia... (I swear I'm trying to be nice, since we don't have weather unless the studios need to film a rainy scene). Because of all the rain we've had, the wildflowers are in bloom. As I might be without television this weekend, thanks to KODI, I might have to take a day trip somewhere.

Our phones woke us up with a tornado warning at 2 am this morning. We turned on the tv to figure out where and what was going on, then the neighborhood sirens started going off so we got the kids up and into the hall closet. My son seemed ok, but my daughter was terrified. We stayed in there about 30 minutes and thankfully got back to sleep. No major damage last night but I feel that we're going to have many more nights in the closet this year!

For us weather geeks: the Cloud Atlas (yes, that is a thing, edited by the World Meteorological Organization) has named 12 new types of clouds. Evidently, high-resolution digital photography is enabling cloud classification: people have been able to take digital images to send in to the WMO, allowing them to identify formations that hadn't previously been classified. In further geekitude, the Cloud Atlas data resides on Amazon's cloud service.

Holy crap, ladybug, that sounds so scary! I would've been freaked out.
Looks like after a very, very wet winter we're finally drying out in Northern Ca. No rain in the foreseeable forecast. Hello, sweet Spring.

Yes, here's a question for our weather experts: there's an "Indian Summer," (An autumn that's 'late') right? A "Strawberry Spring?" (A spring that's 'early'?) Is there an expression for late or fake Spring? Here in Oregon it remains very cold at night (no, I'm not in the mountains) like it was in the winter. Also, winter-feeling rain.
Anyone? Bueller?

I just call it schizophrenic weather. (Because, of course, climate change is not real. )

I've heard a few wacky scientists call this "climate change."
I think they're jus' bullshittin'.
