I worked the one of the Exit Polls and I think my little cross section of people edged towards 60% yes 40% no.
Despite this I'm remain cautiously optimistically pessimistic as my go to mood until tomorrow.
EDIT 11.20pm gmt RTE poll 69.4% in favour for Yes Irish Times Poll 68% for Yes Ifvthese polls are near acurate this is incredible, but again I say nothing utterly offical until tmrw!!

Yeah my decision to ignore everything till tomorrow didn’t last long!! RTÉ exit poll says the same thing. I’m taking nothing for granted but against my own wishes I’m getting excited.

Is there any information on the demographics on how people are voting? Younger vs older? Men vs Women? Has the Church or politicians been vocal one way or the other?

No demographics yet. All the main parties backed Repeal. Well officially anyway. One of the biggest parties - Fianna Fáil- their leader backed Repeal but he has faced a lot of backlash from his party because of it. Funnily enough the party in power at the moment - Fianna Gael - would be seen as one of the most conservative parties in Ireland but they pushed through the Marriage Referendum and this one.
The church has been pretty quiet about this. There have been some incidents such as a priest giving a speech during a Communion mass but the congregation walked out. I think they understood they have no moral standing to talk about women and children in Ireland.

Should the result be as indicated tmrw and Ireland does get to change our abortion law. Its not abortion we will celebrate no one takes that decision lightly in any way. Its heartbreaking no matter what. We will (hopefully) celebrate the choice irish women will and should be allowed. We will remember and honour the women who never had a choice. From the Laundries to the Departure gates. Its now having the potential choice we celebrate. Knowing our fellow countrymen/women trust us to know our own minds.
Again I'm emotional and never sorry.
Tho if someone took away my internet for few hours, might not be a bad thing....

YES!!!!!!!!
I was debating with a friend a few months ago the pros and cons of moving to Ireland. She declared that she couldn't live in a country where a woman didn't have the right to choose. I argued that at least Ireland was moving forward compared to the US which has been sliding backward on this issue since the 80s.
I was pretty confident that someday the repeal would go through, but Holy Hell, did Ireland surprise me! I thought it would take at least a few more years!
