This completely broke me, history will not be kind to how the world leaders did not call for a ceasefire and let this horror on innocents continue not just unchecked but wholly supported ( UK, US AND EU I’m looking at you)

It’s genocide, war crimes all of it. Committed by Israel and our elected leaders in EU, UK and US are wholly supporting it.
And it seems completely hopeless to stop it.

Thank you Fitz for having the humanity to show these children’s plight and not join in on the cutesy high school mean girl mentality of laughing about cathaters to end this topic.

I will say that any Israeli citizens over 18 were not innocent by knowingly living and whooping it up on stolen land (and have immense respect for the Jews who left ItsNotReal once they came of age and educated themselves that their families were literally living in stolen houses, but yes I too have sorrow for their younger children.

Oh and the mods can ban me anytime, no problem. Until then I find it educational to check people’s views on the other side of the world. Unlike most people here I don’t prefer echo chambers.

And also so one day I can giggle about cathaters when the shoe is on the other foot.

Im going to try and likely fail to word this next bit properly or as coherently as I wish.
Do not associate an entire country or its citizens with whatever terrorist or political regime they might have the unfortunate situation to share a nationality or country or divisive region or territory with.
I stand with Palestine but condemn Hamas thats allowed, as is being completely horrified at the the Israeli response but not losing compassion for the people in in Israel

The ordinary citizens of Palestine and Gaza are not Hamas nor are the citizens of Israel the IDF or Netanyahu with his genocide intentions and yes I don’t see what Israel are doing as self defence but barbarism but I know it’s not done in the name of every Jew or Israeli. I lived in a world where my nationality came with the association of terrorist ideals.
I spent far too many conversations with randoms on my travels in my 20s explaining I was Irish as in U2 / Thin Lizzy as in music and not the IRA, well if I only had a dollar for each assumption made I’d have travelled far and wide.

Naively, it might be but I can never see what violence towards each other can achieve at all, there is a stunning documentary on Northern Ireland recently released out there Once upon a time In Northern Ireland ( brilliant doc one of the most even handed as it has contributions from all in invoved on all sides)eta warning it is an intense and difficult watch should any of you do so.

And to most likely misquote a line from it , we realised we can fundamentally disagree about so much but no longer have to kill each other over it

I can think of a dozen reasons why someone may be unable to leave the land they were born in, despite wanting to, at the age of 18, 28, or 88. They are probably similar to the reasons why US citizens who were offended and disgusted by the US presidential election of 2016 didn't leave for Canada. Additionally, many people inside Israel no doubt were horrified by Netanyahu's policies and see that they have led only to bloodshed.

There is a difference between people and their governments (again, consider US citizens who would not want others to think that the president in 2017 represented them); people do not equal their state's majority religion; and people of a religion (say, Judaism) in other parts of the world do not equal the policies of the homeland of that religion.

The life of a person on one side of a border is equal to the life of a person on the other side, and both deserve respect.

I'm not sure what education I'm supposed to have gotten from your posts? I've yet to see anything that wasn't hyperbole, opinion, or just an emotional outburst.
