I don’t think any woman had the clout to speak up about this. I have nothing but admiration for all the brave women who are speaking up now, and my side eye is reserved for those saying, “Gee, I just had no idea!”

...and my side eye is reserved for those saying, “Gee, I just had no idea!” Me, too. Especially since I, whose sole connection to Hollywood gossip is this board, have heard rumors about most of them.

In her case it was more the right time and the right place. All the circumstances were right for her to take this stand. If her success with Wonder Woman was last year, it would definitely have been different. Her exposure would have diminished somewhat, and the sequel either finished or nearing completion. Lady Luck was in her favour. It is weird to see how 2017 is panning out. The hushed rumours were always present in the entertainment industry, but to see it exploding like this in the limelight and spreading like a massive oil stain all over the world, yeah, this was definitely one of those things none of us could have predicted.

Someone claiming to be an ex-roommate of Gal's is alleging that a friend of Gal's raped her thirteen years ago and that Gal blamed her for the rape and even tried to make her write an apology to the guy's girlfriend. The story was originally published on Medium but later removed. The person who wrote it has since reposted it on their own website and also set up a twitter account. I could not find any information on who wrote it. They are remaining anonymous for now.

Lady Luck may have been in her favour, but she still did it. I am trying to think of instances where men did something along these lines? Zach G. refusing to work with Mel Gibson, Anton Walbrook refusing to work with Lida Baarova after WWII -- these are the only two I can think of at this moment.
Good on her for taking a stand no matter her recently-upgraded rank on the Hollywood food chain. She may have more clout now than one year ago, but she actually did something. This is why we need more women in power, instead of moral and ethical strawmen like Affleck and Damon.

Terry Crews tweeted that in light of him coming forward with his sexual assault allegation, Radar Online falsely claimed that they had evidence he hired prostitutes. Rose McGowan got arrested on a several months old dubious drug charge. And now someone is going after Gal. I’m not saying I don’t believe the account above but I do think that there are those in Hollywood working to discredit victims and those being vocal in supporting them. So just put me down as sceptical for now.

You know, I didn't even read that link but blaming (and trying to punish 13 years later) a 19 year old girl for having a shitty reaction to a sexual assault in her circle of friends is so grasping at straws it's laughable. And not remotely comparable to the various sexual predators being exposed, it's actually insulting to victims. Young women can be part of rape culture, color me shocked.

The fact that people are ranting on that Twitter about Zionism makes me side-eye it. A lot.

The fact that people are ranting on that Twitter about Zionism makes me side-eye it. A lot. Exactly. I'm pretty sympathetic to the Palestinian cause, yet I pretty much adore her for her stance on Ratner. Re finding anonymous people to discredit men and women who stand up for sexual assault victims: colour me shocked /sarcasm.
