I actually did not think the reboot seemed pro-Trump. To me, the characters were struggling in realistic ways that are due to our current political mess. I guess it’s possible to see that as portraying all the situations that Trump Almighty is fixing, it it sure didn’t come across like that to me.

The original show always portrayed the Conners as a perpetually struggling, lower middle class couple who didn't have the education or resources to escape the situation they were in. Darlene made it out of Lanford originally and the fact that she was back, children in tow, living with her parents was not exactly evidence of a greater America. And Becky (and Crystal) still working in a bar after all these years, also not great.

The fact that the Conners (or at least Roseanne) were still supporting Trump despite their ongoing poor situation, including lack of medical coverage, seemed painfully realistic, but it's not actually pro-Trump in real world logic.

It's a comparison of the fictional town of Lanford, IL to the town it is based on, Elgin, IL - current versus past. With some comments from Roseanne Barr that are off base, but not entirely so.

The re-reboot is a go. Roseanne will have no control & not receive any money from it. They'll probably kill her off. The rest of the cast is returning.

Yep It's Official. Everyone is back, it seems, except for one character. I wonder if they will go as over the top as Charlie Sheen's demise on Two and a Half Men.

Most likely, they will kill her off during the surgery the character was to have on her knees, which a natural disaster flooding helped pay for.

I wonder if she got a pay out to release her rights to the show/characters. I would assume so, though frankly I think it would depend on her current level of mental health.

I'm wondering if they may keep the character alive but permanently off camera. In rehab for addiction, in rehab for bad knee, being a live in caretaker for her mom or some such thing. I'm thinking that way because of how it has been worded, that Barr still owns the character and rights to any future spin offs. So maybe not dead?

Don't know if I am interested in watching the Darlene show, her acting was so terrible. I would LOVE to watch the Jackie and Dan show!

Everyone is saying “no.” The condition for the reboot was that Roseanne not benefit at all. I will give her credit if it’s true she signed away her rights. That’s a lot of money she’s waving good-bye to and she did it because she knew she fucked over a lot of people.

I think I'll watch this. I watched most of the first run, but bowed out the last season with the lotto craziness. Plus it was my senior year of college, so I had craziness in my own life. I was almost in on the reboot, but didn't want to deal with any Trump crap.
