I'm looking forward to this and agree that the Connors would be Trump supporters.
Johnny Galecki is signed on to appear on the show. Darlene is divorced from his character, so it's easy to keep him on the show without having him physically show up more than once or twice.
Sarah Chalke plays a woman who hires Becky to be her surrogate, so I anticipate lots of "you could be part of our family!" jokes.
I do enjoy the promo ad where Roseanne nudges Dan because he's sleeping so soundly, saying "I thought you were dead!" Dan replies, "Why does everyone keep thinking I'm dead?"
A little stunned that the original show never got any Emmy noms, not even Goodman. That's Hollywood snobbery for you. Same reason Modern Family got repeated and some undeserved noms because it was about a wealthy stylish California family, whereas The Middle was ignored because it was about Middle America schlubs, even though Eden Sher and Charlie McDermott delivered some great stuff.

Yeah, I specifically remembered Laurie Metcalf winning (I didn't know Goodman was nominated several times but never won).
I'm not really in the mood to watch a show with Trump supporters, even if it is pretty realistic for their characters (I see enough "What's going on with Trump Supporters" interviews and think pieces that I'm not burning to see more). But I love me some Dan Conner, so I will probably at least check this out, even if I don't regularly watch it.

Sara Gilbert also received 2 nominations for Supporting Actress, losing both times to Laurie Metcalf. List of Awards and NominationsWill and Grace has done some political comedy this season, and it has not come over that well. Hopefully, this show (which was also a lot more political than W&G can do it better.

I picked up the DVDs of the entire original series last Friday at Walmart for $25. (We switched service providers, and I lost the contents of my DVR, which had every episode on it!)
I will check out the reboot but will maintain cautious hope that it will be as good as the original at it’s peek. My love for John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf is what my hope rests upon.

My love for John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf is what my hope rests upon. I have the same hope! I don’t think either of them (especially Goodman) would do it if it was awful.

I adore Laurie Metcalf, and nobody can make a better silk purse out of a sow's ear than her, but Jackie still became a shrieky, weird character in the last few seasons of the show.
I didn't realize that Sara Gilbert had gotten Emmy nominations. I love her too, but her acting is noticeably weak. It must have been because Darlene's storyline was so compelling.
I remember Laurie Metcalf winning because the tabloids made a big thing about how furious and jealous Roseanne supposedly was. And I think it's the Emmys where I found out that Laurie was having a baby in real life with Fisher.

I never really cared for Roseanne the person or the character. I found her mean and coarse in a very contrived way. I did watch fairly often in the earlier seasons because I liked the other actors, and because unless you "only watched PBS," we all watched and talked about the same shows. Not like today with you whipersnappers and your instantly available panoply of choices. I don't think I'll watch the reboot. I have enough Trump in my life already, I don't want to put any more money in her pocket, and there are so many things I'd rather watch.

Plus the whole reboot was Sara Gilbert's idea to begin with, and that gives me hope. Laurie was on Marc Maron awhile back and said they fell right back into it and had so much fun that she would go back for a second season of the revival.
