I'm pretty excited to see this show come back. It was the original home reno show that promoted diy. All the original players are back, except Amy Wynn. TLC is running a Trading Spaces marathon all day and I'm enjoying the nostalgia.
It will be interesting to see how they redo rooms within the upgraded $2000 budget when HGTV viewers are used to seeing six-figure home renos.
Anyone else gonna watch?

Dunno - is Hildi going to do any moss-covered walls? I might try to catch one or two - those people made me NUTS. Had I been some of those homeowners, I would have sued their pants off. THat was some ugly shit.

Back in the day I was a big fan. Not sure how I feel about it coming back--could be fun. I do remember some of the hideous disaster rooms (circus room anyone? the woman who had practically had a breakdown because something she specifically said not to do they did anyway?) and how awkward those reveals were.

I’ve been watching the rebroadcasts of the old episodes. So, so bad. I think you make a good point about the budget really being important nowadays since we do have the elaborate renos going on now. I tell you what show I’d really love to see again and that is Changing Rooms – the original original home reno show that Trading Spaces was based on. I loved that show even with it’s fair share of Hildiesque disasters.

I don't know if this is what you were thinking of, but I remember one lady who was adamant about them not painting the walls brown and she was really really angry when they went and painted the walls brown anyway. I think she might've actually stormed out of the house and refused to participate in the taping anymore.

I LOVED Changing Rooms. Kind of like the British vs. American versions of Kitchen Nightmares, it was a lot more low-key and pleasant.
I am probably going to tune back in to Trading Spaces 2.0 at some point anyway though. Some of the monstrosities they came up with on the original are so angering, yet I can't look away.

I think you guys are thinking about the infamous Crying Pam.
I used to love this show, but I've kinda burned out on reality TV. I'll probably tune into an episode or two to see if it sucks me back in.

The show I want revived is Buy Me. Nothing can top the infamous 'Rainforest Condo' episode.

I'll def give it a go. I'm kind of shocked they're bringing Frank back... Nicest guy in the world! Horrible, terrible, no-good decorator. Like, literally painful to watch sometimes.
ETA: They're airing the hay-wall ep now! I had forgotten the homeowners/victims were lesbians. It was a hate crime! That's the only logical explanation...
