I liked the Holiday Calendar and Princess Switch for what they were: cheesy fluff. That said, the Christmas Wedding Planner, or whatever it's called, is just awful. I watched the whole thing, but I really recommend not watching at all. So stiff and awkward and weird pacing and just bad. I've not watched any of the Prince onces. I might do that tomorrow night for the hell of it.

I thought the original Christmas Prince was cute for what it was. The sequel was awful. I don't know why Netflix couldn't have sprung for a better script when they knew it would get a lot of hype.
Of the new Netflix movies this year, my favorite was The Christmas Chronicles. It's not a romance, though.

Alert!!! Death of a Cheerleader—a remake of the classic A Friend to Die For—will air February 2! And Kellie Martin is in it! It's one and the same movie, just different titles used. No remake. The murder it's based on actually happened about 20 minutes from me.

Yikes. I didn't even realize this until last week, b/c I never looked, but in Canada it's the Women's Network, filled 24/7 with holiday/Christmas movies. With the exception of Sunday night at 10, when they show Outlander. It's mind boggling. They don't even show Outlander 3 hours later, for the west coast peeps or people who forget to set their PVR, everyone has to catch it the first time, I guess. Christmas Day I gather they showed a Home Alone and Home Alone 2 marathon, so there's that.
Last night I caught a couple of episodes of 7 Days Out on Netflix; it's a short series about the lead up to several cultural events; the ones I watched were about the preparation for what I gather was the 2017 Chanel haute couture show in Paris, and then I watched the story of the end of the Cassini mission, called The Grand Finale by NASA, where they sent the satellite to a fiery death in Saturn's atmosphere. I'm an astronomy nut.

There's a podcast called Deck the Hallmark where they review EVERY xmas movie Hallmark put out this year (if I remember correctly, they said there were 39 of them!). We listened to the ep about Mingle All the Way today and it was very funny. Unfortunately, despite HGTV watching, and me hate-watching, more of these cheese fests this year than ever before, that's the only actual HM movie we caught. We mostly watched Lifetime's offerings.

That time of year is quickly approaching! Netflix has a new one called Holiday in the Wild. It stars Rob Lowe and Kristin Davis, who both still look amazingly beautiful into their 50s. Kristin plays a mother who sends her son (played by RL's kid) to college, and wants to go on a 2nd honeymoon to Africa (Zambia, I think? They are very general with the geography) with her Very Busy Corporate Husband, who promptly dumps her less than 5 minutes after the kid is out the door. She goes on the trip alone and stays at a fancy hotel on her way to the luxury safari lodge. Rob Lowe is her pilot and they start out not liking each other. On the way there, they find an orphaned elephant cub and take it to a refuge. She decides to stay and help out (she's a former vet) with the elephant rescue organization.
The best part of this movie was the elephants. The romance was ok, but I didn't really think Rob and Kristen had any chemistry. The plot is THIN and everything just works out so nice and neatly. I think this may have been filmed in Africa, but I would not be surprised if I learned they filmed it in California either.
Are there any holiday movies that you are really looking forward to?

Kristin is a patron of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya. Perhaps they filmed the parts featuring the elephants there.
