Heck yeah I keep them up till January, mid January to be specific, for my birthday. I figure if baby Jesus gets a Christmas tree why can't I?

The trend in my neighborhood seems to be putting them up in early-November and then taking them down by New Year’s. I leave them up until mid-January, but I am definitely the odd one. Mine don’t go up until the day after Thanksgiving - with the exception of this past year. Thanksgiving was as late as it could have been, so we put them up the weekend before.

When I was growing up we put our Christmas decorations up on Thanksgiving Day, we'd spend the morning and early afternoon decorating and then go to my grandparents' house for dinner. Nowadays my mom tries to do it on Thanksgiving but sometimes (depending on the availability of children/grandchildren to help her) has to do it on a different weekend. I still do mine around Thanksgiving.
One year when I was kinda depressed I left mine up until mid-March, but most of the time I take them down around New Years. My apartment isn't very big and that's about the time I usually get sick of having my tree taking up so much space.

Has anyone watched the Netflix concert? Any good? I am a fan, though I still say she is a better songwriter (January notwithstanding) than a singer. I have. Um... a few times. Maybe more than a few. If you like Taylor Swift, it's awesome. Full disclosure: though I'm generally rock/punk/folk oriented, I love Taylor. She just cheers me up. She's my comfort listening.

The Netflix concert from her Reputation tour is the same show I took my daughter to (her first concert). It was a great show and it's awesome to have the entire concert we attended streaming on Netflix! We watched it when it premiered on New Year's Eve.
She also did a smaller concert for Lover that was filmed in Paris and it's streaming on Disney+.
I also am puzzled by the Christmas lights in January thing. I leave my decorations up until 12th night.

We had a family friend when growing up who left her Fake holiday tree up all year long and would decorate it for each holiday...NY, Valentine’s Day, etc. loved her eccentricity.

I've removed the decorations though and just left it as a naked tree with lights. My tree is still up now. I only took the ornaments off about a month ago, but they’re off now. I originally left it up for one of my kitties after we had to put down one of the other cats due to cancer. They’d been best buddies for nearly 10 years and he was distressed when she died. He loves the lights of the tree and it soothes him so we just left it up.

Why is there a Christmas light discussion in Taylor Swift's thread?
