‘Cuz that’s how deep TayTay’s lyrics are!
Re: lights
One year, Dad and I meticulously replaced all the bulbs in a string of outdoor lights in a repeating green, white, and orange pattern, like the flag of Ireland. Our plan was to put them up for Christmas, but leave them up perpetually, and turn them on for holidays throughout the year: St Pat’s (obvs!), July 4 (Irish-American), Halloween (Scary IRA!).
They stayed up for 4 years.

Why is there a Christmas light discussion in Taylor Swift's thread? Because of the lyrics in her song.

Ha, shows how much I pay attention.
Do people actually take Christmas lights down? (I'm talking about exterior illumination, Rusty) We leave them up all year, but only turn them on November to New Years. Nobody I know actually removes the lights from the house every year. As for Christmas tree lights and other decorations, I thought it was bad luck to keep them up beyond Epiphany (Jan 6).

People around here (Wisconsin) keep them up until spring, but in our defense: no one wants to be outside on a ladder taking down holiday lights in the snow, ice, and sub-zero temps. At least we stop turning them on at night sometime in... January On topic: Taylor pumps out some good hits (writing/creating is her talent for sure), but she never comes across as truly genuine. I remember watching Miss Americana and there were was so much that seemed frank and yet still completely calculated. It was really cool watching her tinker away and create songs, those were my favorite bits, but there was a deeper realness I wanted from it that just never got there. That said, she's now voicing her political opinions/personal values and I think that's fantastic. I hope she continues to grow in this way with her persona. Also no shame at all, "Lover" was the soundtrack to our epic family roadtrip last summer (blew up just as we hit the road and was on the radio errrrwhere those two weeks). Given the current state of the country and all the nostalgia for the past: I am not ashamed to say I sometimes have it on repeat while toiling away from home these days.

Ahhhhhhhh this is exciting! (I love Taylor, kick me off the boards.) She usually does so much hype about her new albums, love that she’s skipping all of that for this one.
