I'm confused. Have there been reports indicating the motivation behind the terrorists who were planning the attack in Vienna? From the initial reports, I had thought the reason they were targeting her concert was that it would be a very large gathering of people. Has it been found that they were directly targeting it for Taylor and whatever she represents? Was it Trump related?

I don't think it was Trump related but it introduced the idea that a Taylor concert would make a good terror target. And since storming the capitol is no big deal for the die hard Trumpsters I can see why Taylor wouldn't want to stir that hornets nest.

Have they attacked any of the other stars who have come out against Trump or for Harris?

I can't think of another star who commands the same size crowds as Taylor, which is presumably what a potential terrorist considers as well.

But you know what? No matter how mystified I occasionally am by members of Swifties for Kamala’s determination to support Kamala not just as themselves but as Swifties, there’s no real reason to begrudge the group. Yes, it’s cringe to watch politicians attempt to out-pander one another with the amount of Swift references they can cram into a few minutes of addressing her fans (did you know that Sen. Elizabeth Warren considers herself a “Karma” fan?), but the organization isn’t hurting anyone, and it may be helping, not only by raising money but by keeping voters engaged in the election. And good for them. Even if Taylor Swift never thanks them, democracy might.

Or the same degree of animus in the people who don’t like smart, talented, (truly) megarich young women with a mind of their own. Look at the absolute batshit ugliness that bubbled up when Taylor started dating Travis Kelce and coming to Chiefs games (or, for that matter, when she’s started dating and then broken up with any man, because they’re all convinced this young woman with a perfectly unexceptional number of boyfriends is a whore)—and that was just football they were riled up over. They aren’t Clinton or Biden or Harris voters, many are armed, and they’ve shown a terrifying willingness to let themselves get whipped into a froth by the disinformation spewed by Fox and other, even more sinister “news” outlets and people.
