I was going to say, the mobile is way easier. I've had no trouble with it.

Have any US citizens tried completing ArriveCAN forms? They are supposed to make entry to Canada easier because you upload your passport and vaccination info before traveling. But the site just hangs when I try to submit a photo of my vaccine card. Erg. We have traveled a couple of times during Covid to look at colleges with granolakid2. I take the plastic laundry bag from the hotel closet, fill it with our trash, and leave it in the bin in the lobby or the parking lot. And bring an extra plastic bag or two for longer stays. ETA: Got the mobile version of ArriveCAN to work! Off to visit the University of Toronto soon! U of T is a great school! Enjoy your visit!

My daughter and I are scheduled to go on a Bahamas cruise in June. But I'm looking at the British pound vs. the US dollar and wondering if we should cancel and try to go to the UK. By June the pound will probably recover.

So I took a quick trip to London last month and just geeked out in museums (caught Yoyoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Rooms installation at the Tate Modern) and ate comfort food from M&S in my hotel room, lol. (I used to work at Marks & Spencer eons ago.) I missed Bonfire Night (arrived on Nov 8), but got tix to the Gunpowder Plot immersive experience at Tower Vaults. It was excellent and highly entertaining. I spent the morning of Nov 11 at the Cenotaph for Armistice Day (Remembrance Day). I had to leave on Nov 13, so I was bummed that I couldn’t line up along Whitehall again to watch Charles and the royal family lay wreaths on the Sunday.
BUT as I was resting my weary, tired legs on Saturday evening in my hotel room, BBC 1 mentioned that the royal family was attending the annual Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall. I looked at my watch, said “why not?” and hopped on the Tube. I got a clear view of Charles and Camilla arriving in their car, waving at the few of us there. I saw Kate and William too (they got loud cheers). They didn’t broadcast it live, so I had loads of time to get back to my hotel and catch it at 9 pm. They had a special tribute to the Queen — so wonderful. Worth watching on YouTube if you can find it.
ETA: My son is mad at me for not picking up more Percy Pigs from M&S. He said “Those pigs were delicious.” If anyone can hook me up, please do!

That sounds like a great trip! And I agree with your son - Percy Pigs are fantastic.

Well, I am one of the 70% of SW Airline’s flights that got canceled after Christmas. Currently making a VERY long drive through Pennsylvania. It’s a long way to St. Louis…

Good luck, carrier76, and all the other Greecies trying to get to where they want to be. What a messy week. Stay safe, everyone!

Well, I am one of the 70% of SW Airline’s flights that got canceled after Christmas. Currently making a VERY long drive through Pennsylvania. It’s a long way to St. Louis… I had a SW flight scheduled for tomorrow (I was planning to be visiting family over New Years and a couple of days beyond) so I've been following all the news reports. What a mess. SW really dropped the ball. After reading about the people waiting in line at the counters or to get their luggage for 14 hours or more, I can only imagine the stress and exhaustion level for the travelers. I was kind of figuring my flight would be cancelled, and it was. I was lucky to get a decent priced ticket on another airline for a Saturday night flight, so at least I'll still be able to go even if my trip is shortened. I called my mom to tell her my change in plans, and she wanted to know why I didn't rebook for Thursday instead I told her there was literally nothing available for SW flights the rest of this week, and other airlines were charging on average $1,000 for tickets this week, so I was lucky to get a ticket at all....
