So, maybe weird question, but has anyone ever brought cremated remains on an plane and was there any issue? I'm not talking about a full urn-ful, but a small amount. I'm seeing various answers when I try to research it.

I'm seeing various answers when I try to research it. I did. But this was 20 years ago. I took some of my mum's ashes back to the UK. It was only a few months after she died. I wanted to follow the rules, so I phoned a travel agent. Initially it was extremely difficult to obtain a concrete answer, but eventually I was advised that a sealed non lead based container must be used. I hope this is at least a bit helpful.

We did it 4 years ago - from FL to MA to bury my Mom’s ashes in the cemetery plot she and my Dad bought years ago. We took out some to keep/scatter, but brought most of them on the plane. Carried on in a sturdy shopping bag, we just needed a certificate from the crematorium and it was not a huge deal.
We will be doing the same thing again in September with my Dad’s.
If it’s a small amount, I’d guess you could probably tuck them into a checked bag and no one would be the wiser, but the safe move is to call the airline and inquire.

Looking for thoughts and opinions. I turn 50 in April and I'm trying to think how to spend it. I can't take more than a week off or spend a ton because I'm going to Jordan in November and that's using up some time off and a chunk of fun money. So far I have the following options and they're all very different:
- Moab, maybe renting a small camper van. I've always wanted to do hiking/camping in this area.
- Nashville. A friend of ours is also turning 50 in April and they'd probably want to come with us for this.
- San Antonio for the total dollar eclipse on the 8th then being touristy.
- stay close to home and go to my favorite spa on Vancouver Island.

I vote spa! ( I admit I’m biased because I work in the industry)

I've heard nothing but great things about Nashville, but a spa weekend sounds divine.

This is the spa. It's lovely and special and the food is incredible. I would enjoy it. But I have been here before
