I've never been west of Ontario! Heh, Canada's so huge and when it costs about the same in time and money to fly to London or Paris, I've always chosen Europe. /bad Canadian
I'm working up to backpack the Skyline Trail in Jasper. Apparently, there are limited permits issued for the trail each year. I'm looking forward to seeing the Rockies!

Alberta is our plan for next summer too, barring some world-opening miracle. I want to go back to Europe so bad; there's so much left on the travel list, but it will have to wait. Until then, it's the beautiful Rockies. I have family in Alberta, so a visit is due anyway, and maybe a few days on the heinously pricey Rocky Mountain Railroad will happen if it's open. Also, I want to go on the glass shelf at Jasper. Flying doesn't bother me, other than the huge pita it's going to be, even more than post-9/11 hassles. But we might drive out, if we can find 2-3 weeks free. I keep reading that the "glass shelf" isn't that great; it's been built/opened since the last time I visited. If you go to the Columbia Icefields, keep in mind that one of the ice buggies flipped off the incline leading on to the glacier this summer, rolled over 3 times and killed some people. I'd avoid it and just go on the guided tour. I love Jasper. Spend the day at Edith Cavell or Medicine Lake.

Yeah, the glacier bus roll over was big news. But like any tragedy of this type, I always remember that dozens (hundreds, thousands) of buses have taken the same route without incident. I don't stop flying if a plane crashes, and I don't avoid driving because of a car accident.
In spite of the the glass shelf reviews, I'd still like to do it. I've visited many amazing as well as perfectly interesting places and then read the reviews on TripAdvisor. Often I wonder if they went to the same place I did. Or maybe I'm easily pleased.
Re: traveling in Canada. We'd love to fly to the Yukon and drive around there at some point as well. Newfoundland is a trip in itself too. Quebec has such amazing history. Ontario seems boring by comparison, but probably because I live there. Familiarity breeding contempt and all that. Ontario does have the longest freshwater beach in the world.
We loved the Maritimes, such friendly people and so many interesting places. We went to a local ceilidh at a church in a small town and a couple gets up for some (amazing) stepdancing to the fiddle music. The fiddler then thanks ____ Rankin for joining them! Sorry, can't remember which Rankin it was. Seemed surprising and yet typically Maritime to have pop-in Rankins.

If I were to big up tourist attractions on my island the legend of Fungie, Dingle Co Kerry own personal solo dolphin would be on that list. Fungie made Dingle his home since the 80s. Sadly though our Dolphin hasn’t been seen in days and we fear the worst. This might well be the cruelest blow 2020 could hit us with, taking our emotional support dolphin from us. Fungie: The missing dolphin who became an Irish starYes i live in a country that will worry about the disappearance of a local dolphin and mourn the passing of our Presidents dog and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

When we can travel again, where do you want to go?
I’m going start with my own land and start at Achill Island, the West of Ireland start there and travel the coast road all the way round, go north then east and south and back to the west, all the coasts of my island. The seas!
First flight to somewhere, to family away from here so UK and Belgium.
Then maybe throw a dart at a map and see where it takes me....

I just made a pact with my good friend from Wichita, we're going on a child-free trip to NYC with our partners and see some Broadway shows. I also told my husband I want to visit Japan. He lived there as a child but I've never been.

This is my favorite thing to think about lately! We had to cancel our honeymoon, we were supposed to go to Italy in October so we're really hoping this October we'll get a do-over. If Europe still isn't letting us in at that point, we will go to Hawaii. And we have a tentative trip to Aspen planned for this September, to go to a food festival, but that is pretty close to us so less exciting. It will be more about finally getting to go to a food festival!

We were talking about this last night. One of our neighbors has some heat lamps and a fire pit so if it's not bone chillingly cold we go down there for a fire every weekend. The kids can run around and the grown ups chat and have a drink...
Everyone was talking about where they're going to travel once this is over and it was a lot of Hawaii's and Europe's and the Carribeans and we looked like idiots when we said "Disney World" But we were supposed to go this past December so we're hoping to make good on the promise. I mean I guess if we hit Epcot we can do Germany, the UK, France, China, Mexico,Norway, Japan, Canada and Italy.

I also really want to go back to Hotel Xcaret in Mexico. That place is heaven.

I would like to go back but I heard the Irish aren't too fond of Americans now. But I would like to see Clonmacnoise and Glendalough, the Titanic museum, Carrick-a-rede and Giant's Causeway. Carrickfergus castle. Stateside, I would like to go to San Francisco and NYC.
