I don't think it would be hard to have more Lady Danbury. I got the impression that she was a society mainstay of the city and she seems to enjoy intrigue, so I wouldn't be surprised to see her out and about.
The older ladies were my favorite characters. I love seeing Polly Walker in a comedic role. And of course, the aforementioned Lady Danbury (I loved her booze-and-card-game night for married women), and I came to adore the Queen. Her status obsession led to some really fun moments, but she was also surprisingly sympathetic in her relationship with King George.
I've seen some debates on other sites where people get really passionate about whether Penelope did the right thing or not re: Colin Bridgerton and Marina. Honestly, I think I'm Team Penelope. I get that it was the early 1800s and all that, but you're never going to convince me that Marina was in the right.

I agree that Marina was totally in the wrong. I get she was desperate, staying single wasn’t really an option, and she didn’t want to be married off to a gross older guy. But I think Colin proved she was wrong when he told her she should have been honest instead of trying to snare him into a marriage, because he would have married her anyway if she told him the truth. But her lies created issues that wouldn’t have been there otherwise. Penelope exposing her secret was harsh, but after Penelope was the only one kind to her, Marina still knowingly went after the guy she was in love with. Sisters before misters, Marina. Otherwise all is fair in love and war.

Marina also went out of her way to be nasty about it too. She was like, "Your crush is stupid, he'll never love you, he loves me because I'm cooler and hotter." This is how you treat your only friend???

I'm glad I'm not alone in my Marina dislike. And she didn't want any help finding the baby's father, even after finding out that his letter dumping her was fake. I've got one episode left so I am not totally up to date on the story.

This is how you treat your only friend??? And as I pointed out in my nerd tear on the costumes, she did it while stealing Penelope's signature color. Before she went after Colin she was in pink all the time. So she either sensed that Colin was fond of Penelope to some degree so she started dressing like her, or it was just to rub it in. Either way, not cool, Marina. Not cool.

Yay! "The Viscount Who Loved Me" is IMO the best book in the series by some distance. So loads of opportunities for them to screw it up LOL. The first season was frothy fun, but they didn't really improve on the problems in the book, sometimes even made them worse, so we'll see. OTOH, individual scenes and moments worked anyway and it was all very pretty, so who cares.
Anthony is one of many characters who was made needlessly meaner in the series, but I think the actor is really good and did the best with what he was given. If he's given proper material, he'll shine. And hopefully they cast a good Kate and write her well. Daphne seemed rather bland to me, which might have been a combination of lackluster writing and hesitant acting.

I'm lukewarm on Bridgerton, but Nicola Coughlan can definitely count me as a fan so I will be there for season 2 of Bridgerton (and I hope season 3 of Derry Girls!).

Finished last night, and the One. Thing. That. Bothers. Me. The. Most. is that the Prince's necklace is STILL on the stone wall out in the garden. Gah!!! I’m waiting for the spin off series called The Gardener Becomes a Millionaire. We’ll follow Edward, a previous junior gardener, who becomes unexpectedly rich after finding a diamond necklace while weeding. He uses the proceeds from the necklace to fund his education to become a lawyer who represents the working class against ruthless employers.

Like many of you, I enjoyed Bridgerton more than I thought I would (I tend to be a historical purist). I think the strength was the casting. So many of the actors were really good and elevated the material way above what it could have been (Anthony B, Penelope, Polly Walker, the Queen, and of course, Hastings) besides being great eye candy.
I also agree that Daphne and Hastings were boring after they got married. I'm ready for an Anthony Bridgerton-centric series. Eloise is my archetype: always wanting to write and have a life, dressing all fussy, and not wanting to marry. But Penelope is the heart of the show.
