I don't know if she actually looks rough - or whether she looks her age? Whatever you think about Goopy, it's clear that she is not currently pumping botox or fillers into her face. So she looks older than a lot of her peers. And as a woman of a similar age, I'm torn between 'yay, go natural versus 'put your face on.'

I feel like I've read before that she used to be a smoker--I don't know if she was a heavy smoker, but my impression was that it was more than just smoking socially. At some point, that catches up with you.

She was in fact a smoker from a rather young age, and I believe she still occasionally has one. I remember an article a few years ago where she spoke about her weekly cigarette.

I’d guess she wants to keep it so she can talk about how hard she works and her impossible schedule (which is two Zoom meetings, a fitting, going to the spa, watch the nanny fix the kids dinner, then leaves for a “girls night out” because she needs a break from the grind).

I think she looks a little rough for her age, and it’s because she indulged in the two biggest contributors to aging skin - sunbathing and smoking. My sister is the same age as Goop and she looks younger because despite living in Hawaii she’s religious about the sunscreen and only indulged in some social smoking in her 20s while I got the impression Gwynnie was a pretty heavy smoker for several years.

My impression in the last few photos she's shared is that she is really turning into her mother, especially when she wears her glasses. Or maybe a younger Sissy Spacek. I actually don't mind the more natural look. To me she looks like a normal woman pushing 50 who hasn't had much work done, and I find it rather refreshing.

I tend to assume that most of Hollywood smokes, but these folks all have the money to do quite a bit to hide the damage. She just seems like she hasn't been playing that game lately.

But she's the spokesperson for some "less toxic" form of Botox. So she is getting light work done--she's just not overdoing it. My big issue with Botox is you lose perspective for what your normal face looks like and you get used to tweaking and before long you look like some waxen SciFi doll.

Jennifer Anniston is a smoker (or I assume she still is--her voice sounds like it) and she looks pretty good so it shows you that money can roll back a lot of damage from smoking. Although in the Friends reunion sometimes the camera would hit her in a certain angle and she definitely had the "lots of work done" look.

In the end, it feels like women are damned either way they go regarding cosmetic procedures so I hate to pile on.

I think it would work wonders for Gwyneth if she stopped tanning, covered up her sun damage with a good foundation, and tinted her eyebrows so they are somewhat visible.

She's got this orange, freckle-face, no-eyebrows thing going on lately.
