Let's dial it back in here, please. Everyone's entitled to their opinion on this and every other topic here, and we don't snark on other Greecies' opinions.
Please find a better way to disagree without slamming other people's judgments.

JCrew has a few short videos of them on their site. They are totally cute. I thought JJ did okay in Dr Death, though the fat suit/makeup they put him in was unfortunate. But I also agree that he was outshone (outshined?) by Christian Slater and Alec Baldwin, who seemed like they were having a great time.

Christian Slater has been in a movie recently? How nice to hear. He was a crush of mine back in the (also his day) day. Before I check it out please reassure me that he hasn’t aged badly.
Topic: interesting how Joshua seemed to me, how shall I put this, the not very cosmopolitan type of American actor. Like you have the Angelina Jolie’s who you can well imagine having affairs/friendships with Parisian artists or Dubai sheikhs, and then you have the ones who give off a smaller town/non-cosmopolitan vibe who would not have a wide variety of cultures in their life. Which also fine (I think movies like Sweet Home Alabama or The Proposal did a lovely job of demonstrating the wholesome charm of that kind of life and person), but for whatever reason Joshua initially gave me the latter vibe and it turns out he’s more the former. Diane Kruger was another former love of his that I was surprised to find out about. I hadn’t thought JJ would have it in him to romance a Euro sophisticat, who was married to Guillaume Canet (another crush) like her. Clearly he’s got more George Clooney* than James Van Der Beek ilk in him.
*Not that I’m any particular fan of GC, he’s a tad smug and textbook for my tastes, (and more randomly I don’t like his forename or surname, which seems to be better suited to a Peewee Herman type persona than an A list star. I did warn that this was a random thought 🙈). Just taking his example because he’s clearly v comfortable with a variety of cultures, in a way that Brad Pitt for instance might feel like a fish out of water. Or at least that’s the impression that both give.

And I would hardly call Diane Kruger a Eurosophisticat. And I never got the impression that Brad Pitt would be someone who was uncomfortable with other cultures; he’s always come across as fairly cosmopolitan - he also dated HRH GOOP.

It wasn't done well in my opinion. For what it's worth, there have been people who worked/associated with the real Dr Duntsch and said that Josh embodied him perfectly. I think the jumping around back and forward a lot, didn't do them any favours, as there were good performances in this.

My underlying point remains whether JJ is Canadian or American, since to non-Americans they have many similarities. Assumptions based on the impression we get off folks is by definition a large part of what every poster does on this forum on a daily basis - given off course that we have never met the celebs in question. Is ‘HRH Goop’ not Caucasian American just like Brad? Hardly Cosmopolitan credentials. On the other points - YMMV.

I don't know what I'd classify as cosmopolitan or not, but I don't think a George Clooney comparison is that far off. I met him years ago (hey, hey, with someone from this board!) and he is very, very charming and immediately makes you feel comfortable just chatting.

Oooh details please Scarlet! I love celeb encounter anecdotes. Is there a thread on that here btw? There is! It’s under Topics in Pop Culture. Celebrity Encounters is currently resting on page 2. ETA-I always confuse Joshua Jackson with Jonathan Jackson, until I click on pictures….

I never saw Joshua Jackson as Pacey or his juvenile movies, but I loved him on Fringe. And I loved loved loved John Noble. I never watched X Files, but Fringe was perfect.
It’s streaming on Amazon Prime…but I’m afraid of getting sucked in.
