I refuse to give in to defeatism. There are still months before the election. Remember that the far right were supposed to be winning in France and the UK, and look what happened there. The far right wants us to feel despair and just give up. We can't let that happen.

Calling Drumpf the future 47th POTUS is really frightening, there are far too many right-leaning governments and officials who want to have the USA in their ranks.

Of course Drumpf isn't going to detract from his own experience! Those who voted or supported for him in 2016 after he disparaged a Gold Star family should know the deal by now.

Also, Biden *did* attempt to call her with condolences, and she refused to speak with him! That's her right, of course, but she said it was because her husband was a "devout" Republican. Cult, cult, cult.

Also, this means nothing with the literally thousands of lies told by and about Trump, but his "love of music"?!? Has the man ever purchased a ticket to a concert or cultural event of any type? Because generally music lovers do that.

ETA: I have three kids, one newly of voting age. I have to beg my oldest to vote, and I don't think she does. The younger two have. I do not understand this at all, I have never missed a presidential election since I turned 18 (I admit having skipped a few local primaries when I was in my 20s, but I don't now.)

I could see the absolute red wave of hate if his widow ever took the phone call from Biden, I put very little past them.

At least the current president did the correct thing and offer comfort during such a difficult time.

I think part of not voting is complacency. I could be very wrong, of course. But decades of relative security, prosperity, etc., can lull people. And what 45 and his team are spewing is mostly unheard of. Many assume the system is secure enough, why bother? It would take more than Jan 6 to wake them up to any real danger.

Hubby and I recently watched a series about $cientology. Cult-like thinking is bewildering. I really can’t wrap my head around how these people think and act.

I will give her credit - she may have declined to speak to Biden. But she did say that she didn't believe Biden had anything to do with the assassination attempt, that it was just a lone gunman acting on his own. That probably didn't endear her to the Trump cult.

She also said that she had no ill will towards Biden, either. She said she's still going to vote for Trump because that's what her husband would have wanted and that he would have been livid if she took Biden's call. But she also vocalized to say that she's not heard from Trump at all. THAT'S what gets me the most. I'm sure she also didn't want to put herself in any danger (!!) by taking his call from the MAGA-cult. What a world.

Trump not calling Helen Comperatore (the widow of shooting victim) is pretty on brand; if he did, I would suspect a body snatching scenario.

In the mid to late 90's I worked at MSG in concessions. Don't remember the concert, maybe Rod Stewart, but who comes strolling in after the lights go down? Cheeto! All I can say is that he was tall, don't remember who was with him.

I did work a Lakeside Church event, creepy people! And the fight that turned into a riot. Good times at MSG!
