I've been so conflicted about how we're going to handle the shit storm we're in right now. Biden is far too complacent if he loses instead of realizing that we are *thisclose* to getting Trump and losing all democracy in this country.
Since before the 2008 election I've always felt that our country would vote for a black man over a woman any day. We're way too up in women's business all.the.time. We couldn't even get Hilary to win against a HORRIBLE man that was so far from presidential that I'm still in awe that he won 8 years ago. So to think that we would get the votes we need to elect Kamala, to me, a fantasy. Is America desperate enough to vote for her against Trump? It might come to that, but I feel that right now it's far too risky of a gamble to make.
I've said it before, they should have been preparing for a different candidate these last four years instead of the last four months of this race. They knew Trump was going to run again last year at this time, so what was the big deal?! I think that Kamala has the ability and smarts to put Trump in his place, but I also think there are too many undecided voters that are going to determine this election's outcome and I feel they are probably too sexist/racist to vote blue no matter what.

Like Tupac once rapped "we ain't ready for a black president", this country ain't ready for a POTUS who happens to be a woman. Vice President Kamala Harris is also a woman of color and has baggage (her relationship with Willie Brown, her tenure as AG of California) that'll turn her into a political non-starter for enough of the electorate. It's depressing because she's competent but she isn't inspiring. Sadly, Drumpf does inspire certain segments of Americans. Joe Biden accidentally says he is the "first Black woman" to serve in White House.I...I just can't with this.

That to me is a sure-fire way to say, "The GOP nominee wins in a landslide". It sucks for sure, but let's be realistic. If the Democrats don't want to believe that's the world we live in, then we're in a lot of trouble. These choices they've made (or lack thereof) have put us into a very precarious position to where we're seriously looking like we'll all be starring in our own copy of The Handmaid's Tale.

In the old thread, ratscabies mentioned Project 2025. While most of it makes sense to me (as in, I understand why MAGA wants it), what is with the total ban on pornography? Is that for the Evangelicals? Because I believe they consume it at the same rate as non-Evangelicals, they just lie/feel guilty about it.

Is that for the Evangelicals? Because I believe they consume it at the same rate as non-Evangelicals, they just lie/feel guilty about it. Based on messages I have seen in hotel rooms in red states when I **TOTALLY ACCIDENTALLY NOT AT ALL ON PURPOSE REALLY** access *cough* adult content*cough* the right wing that want to ban porn are utterly preoccupied with tranny porn (formerly known industry wide as chicks with dicks), and sweet buttery jeebus, so MUCH banging my step son/daughter porn. PornHub is well known for blocking all their favorite content when some busybody in the bible belt starts gunning for them, and when they do, there is a big red lettered screen explaining that since those of you in Trumplandia watch this particular style of porn, but insist on kink-shaming everyone else, we are taking this opportunity to let your similarly inclined constituents know why they can’t access their favorite bang-my-trans-step-daughter videos. I’m guessing it all comes down, once again, to “I can, but I’m gonna prevent y’alls!”

I don't think that Gavin Newsom will try to go around Biden because he's being so supportive of him, but I think that he's the only one that can take on Trump at this point. He has the charisma, smarts, likeability (regardless of all the crazy GOPs in CA who hate him), and is YOUNGER. The Dems are just blowing it letting this keep going.
