When some Dems tried to oust Pelosi back in the day, Jamie Raskin said "you can't beat somebody with nobody". John Stewart et al aren't offering any REAL solutions, they're just parroting MAGA/Russian talking points. I thought Biden was too old to run back in 2020, but I voted for him because there was no other choice. I think he, or his administration, has done a good enough job considering the mess they inherited, and I will 100% vote for him in Nov. In the weeks since the debate he's been ALL over the place, seems to be in decent enough shape, minor gaffes but nothing like Trump. In an ideal world we'd have better candidates, but that world is not now and the most important thing for this country is to STOP Project 2025. The message dominating airwaves now is Biden incompetency, and any Dem talking about that rather than Project 2025 is dead to me.

It's going to be hard to deny when Trump's people are intertwined with the Heritage Foundation. There is also the fact that Heritage Foundation was responsible for the SCOTUS picks. They gave Trump a pre-approved list of candidates. I think if we highlight those facts people will see the connections. I've been reading a lot of stories of Trump leaning people reading the report and being horrified. There is a reason Trump is trying to distance himself.

T***p has also confused people's names for each other, trailed off mid-sentence, slurred and or forgotten words. But nope, not a problem for the cult, they'll pull a Weekend At Bernie's if they have to.

Am I the only one starting to sense a parallel between the Joe must step down people, and the so-called Bernie Bros refusing to vote for Hilary, despite Bernie’s full throated endorsement of her?
Granted, there was a lot of fuckery going on in ‘16 to help Trump win (Russians, Saudis, gerrymandering, complacency, etc), but the Bernie contingent at the DNC sowing discontent was also a small part of it. Was it enough to keep Hilary on the losing side? I don’t know. I LOVE Bernie, and voted enthusiastically for him in the primary, but even then, I knew I’d be voting for Hilary in the fall.
It just feels like we’ve seen this movie. Asking questions is FINE. But asking them relentlessly for two weeks because the answer is unsatisfying just seems counter productive to me.

I think the time for the Dems to switch their candidate has passed. If they were going to do this, it should have been a year ago. At this point, they should rally around getting Joe across the finish line in November, and then if Kamala needs to step in afterwards, she can do so. The possibility of a second term for Trump is terrifying, for good reason, but this hand wringing with less than 4 months to go is only serving the Trump campaign. Count on the Republicans to try every dirty trick in the book to keep a new candidate off the ballot. I have no confidence in the bought-and-paid-for SCOTUS not to allow that to happen. All this because Biden had one bad debate and stutters. His record shows he can lead and that he’s surrounded himself with an administration that can lead. And it really does seem like the mainstream media is putting forth a coordinated effort to undermine Biden and ignore the 5-alarm dumpster fire that is Trump.
Edited to add: Christ, Biden apparently just introduced Zelensky as “President Putin” but quickly caught himself. The man has always had a communication problem and been gaffe prone, but he’ll get torn apart by the media like a pack of hyenas. Forget about his record and lifting the US economy out of the gutter after the pandemic and the mess Trump left. Meanwhile, Trump’s slurring, delirious word salads about Hannibal Lecter, sharks, and electric boats will be ignored. I hate this.

Per a WaPo/Ipsos/ABC poll released today: Biden and Trump are tied at 46% On the one hand, the needle hasn't really moved. On the other, it's un-freaking-believable that 46% of those polled would pick the Project 2025 guy. A friend suggested that it's quite common for CEOs and such saying, "No, we're not going to merge/be bought out/cancel that product" or whatever over and over for weeks, and then flipping at the last minute. So perhaps that tactic has crossed Biden's mind too. Another friend thinks that Biden and Harris should swap places for the election, so voters will see that Harris has the steadying hand of an old white guy's experience next to her. I really wish this were an interesting thought experiment instead of a decision that could change our lives forever.
