small note related to viewing of Bruce's butt. I work in a public library. The fellow who has his desk next to mine orders the music cds. He got called away just as he was apparently going to order replacement copies of "Born in the U.S.A." The cover image from that album has been on his screen for a couple of hours. So all afternoon, I have been treated to the sight of Bruce's denim clad butt. I can stand it.

I'm so sad--he was a wonderful keyboardist and such a big part of the Springsteen/E Street sound.

A light goes out on E Street.
This is very sad.

This is so sad - I didn't realize he was so sick. I just saw Bruce in concert Sunday (he was great!) and he mentioned that Danny sent his love and thanks to everyone. From Bruce's website:

The tour resumed tonight in Tampa...Bruce and the band played a lovely version of the gospel hymn I'll Fly Away with Gary on standup bass. It was reportedly played at Danny's funeral yesterday. A moving and meaningful tribute. Some bright morning when this life is over I'll fly away To that home on God's celestial shore I'll fly away
I'll fly away oh glory I'll fly away (in the morning) When I die hallelujah by and by I'll fly away
When the shadows of this life have gone I'll fly away Like a bird from these prison walls I'll fly I'll fly away
Oh how glad and happy when we meet I'll fly away No more cold iron shackles on my feet I'll fly away
Just a few more weary days and then I'll fly away To a land where joy will never end I'll fly away We had friends at tonight's show who texted the setlist to us as it unfolded...inspired choices, lots of early material that highlighted loss and hope ( Backstreets, Darkness on the Edge of Town, Racing in the Street, No Surrender) and a beautiful version of Sandy with Roy on accordion and Bruce in buckets of tears. That song will always belong to Danny. They played a video montage of him at the start of the show to a recording of Blood Brothers, while the band stood silently onstage and watched along with the audience. I can't imagine how tough it was for them to go on tonight.

RIP Madame Marie. She predicted that Bruce was going to make it big. He joked how she used to say that to all the musicians in Asbury Park. She will always be the queen of the boardwalk.

Bruce and family on the beach in Spain. I love Bruce but I think he and Patty are one of the ugliest couples around.

Why would anyone wear jeans to the beach in July? And does the girl in the 7th pic have big enough flip flops?? ??
