This is pretty much the only "I meant to do that" excuse she could think of. Another mom might say some emergency came up, or she didn't want the paps to make a spectacle of the event, but of course Courtney is going to have to make it sound trashy.

I'm sure everyone else at Frances' wedding, including Frances and her now-husband, are much happier that Courtney stayed home to have (and post about) a fabulous doink-a-doo with Mr. Norley, who is a rather handsome man. Ain't he? I could have gone my entire life without seeing Courtney Love write "slay" and "bae."

Does she really think "I skipped my only child's wedding to stay home and donk my boyfriend" is the better narrative here? I desperately need to start using "donk" in my everyday life.

I can't wait until Courtney becomes a grandmother! Ugh. It's not that long ago I was reading Everett True's Cobain biography and Kurt and Courtney should really be on a Worst Parents of All Time list. Baby Frances was raised in a heroin den almost completely by her nanny because Kurt and Courtney were not only heroin addicts, but they really didn't give a shit about actually raising a child (despite their little home movies they took whenever they spent 5 consecutive minutes with Frances). And her nanny was also a heroin addict. (He basically got the job because he was one of Kurt and Courtney's heroin buddy and he happened to be good with Frances.) I remember reading this story the nanny told about how baby Frances slept every night in a large bed with him (and whoever was crashing on the other side of the bed) and when movers came to move the bed to a new house, they got stabbed with dirty heroin needles that were between the mattress and the headboard and they got mad (of course). My point is that I shudder at the thought of Courtney being near children ever. I hope Frances continues to keep Courtney at a very big distance.

Didn't Frances basically end up living with relatives? I know a court appointed Kurt's mom and sister as her legal guardians at one point. Frances seems closed her paternal grandmother. I'm glad that she had extended family who stepped in.

He parents lost custody of her for the first time when she was two weeks old. Her paternal grandmother got custody for two years when Courtney got busted in 2003, and then grandma and her paternal aunt stood as co-guardians in 2009-2010, until Frances turned 18. She speaks very highly of her grandmother, who sounds like she's basically coparented Frances.
She seems like a pretty smart person. Here's something she said in one of her very rare interviews: “These people are fascinated by me, but I haven’t done anything,” she told the magazine. “I’m famous by default. I came out of the womb, and people wanted to know who I was because of my parents. If you’re a big Nirvana fan, a big Hole fan, then I understand why you would want to get to know me, but I’m not my parents. People need to wait until I’ve done something valid with my life.”

Frances sounds smart and I hope she's ok. In the most recent pics I've seen of her she looks so thin and appears to have gotten into cosmetic procedures, which makes me worry for her. I can't imagine what it would have been to grow up with the baggage of her parents, so I really do hope she's happy and healthy.

After looking at some of the photos from the Met Gala tonight, I think that Ryan Murphy should have went with Courtney Love and Madonna in Feud.

Bump. Not dead, not doing/saying something terrible, but made a great point of the sexism in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's lack of inclusion of women musicians. So far in 2023, Courtney Love calls out a systemic problem, Lindsay Lohan seems to be recovering (probably sober, married, and having first child), two former child stars (Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song) had a second baby last year and didn't publicize it, and two actors from Encino Man have Oscars. This multiverse is weird, but I kinda like it! P. S. - Not all nepo babies succeed (see Shore, Paulie)!
