I love that movie! The way Streeps tosses out, "FLAAACID!", is hilarious!

The Weinsteins must be pretty desperate to sell The Iron Lady - as they've managed to get the notoriously private, non-Tweeting Meryl to do a live chat with the public on the movie's FB page at 8:30 EST.

She looks great. I had no idea she was 62.

If Vogue has to have celebrities on the cover (rather than models) let it be Meryl more of the time! I can't wait to see her as Thatcher.

Meryl is being really aggressive with her Oscar campaigning this year. I guess she's tired of sitting down while lesser actresses keep winning instead of her.

Interesting that Meryl thinks Thatcher recognised her failings because Thatcher operated in a moral and political certitude that seems to have had no room for self-reflection. I know that she is lost to dementia now, but even when Pinochet was arrested in England (acting on a Spanish warrant), Thatcher was furious. She was Ayn Rand re-incarnated.

I'd love to see Streep's portrayal of Thatcher. I'm sure she will be great.

And I don't recall any evidence that she had any serious regrets about her time in office. It was that certitude that put people in awe of her even when they didn't like her. I think she got a hell of a lot of mileage out of it.

A great slideshow that shows that Meryl Streep kisses everybody on the red carpet/at awards shows. Slide #4 is awesome because it's LiLo trying to kiss Meryl and being denied. BURN!
